I still do not understand why the Braves would even consider trading Miller. He was by far our best pitcher last year and he's under team control for a few more years.
He's the type of arm we need going forward. He's the type of pitcher we need to build around...
with as many trades for young arms that the Braves have already made, some of them could work out giving us a nice rotation.

Bc we are loaded with arms and will need to move some at some point to fill holes in the lineup.
That being said, we aren't moving him unless we get an impact type young offensive player in return.

Right, but he is a young PROVEN arm. Several of the others may have the potential, but for now, Miller has shown that he can eat up innings and give us a chance to win games.
I say we hang on to him and allow the young arms a chance to continue to develop. Because if 2 or 3 of them really pan out, we could have a very stout, affordable rotation.

Have you seen the market rate for starting pitching this year? We won't be able to afford him in 3 years. And we probably won't contend until the 3rd year. Easier to trade him now for the bigger package.

Easier yes, but the smarter move might be to move him at the deadline or next offseason when there doesn't look to be as much talented FA pitching.

This is probably the answer. Again, I don't think he gets moved unless we are blown away with an offer. It never hurts to see what a guy will get for you on the market.

Braves get Javier Baez for Shelby Miller
Posted on 12/8/15 at 12:48 am to lsu31always
It doesn't sound like that is true.

The #Cubs insist that there is no deal at all. They did not acquire Shelby Miller, Cubs executives say

I assume Braves would get back more than Baez
Posted on 12/8/15 at 12:57 am to lsu31always
He tweeted Soler still in play in Braves talk just a bit ago.
Posted on 12/8/15 at 12:57 am to lsu31always
right. the details probably havent been ironed out but i think its safe to assume that the cubs and braves will get a trade done by the end of the week
Posted on 12/8/15 at 1:00 am to WestCoastAg
I certainly would not assume that at this point.
Posted on 12/8/15 at 1:08 am to UltimateHog
I know the Braves prefer Soler to Baez
Posted on 12/8/15 at 1:19 am to lsu31always
I want to trade with Arizona not Theo.

Heyman thinking a trade of Miller could happen today. Nightengale says Dbacks feel strongly about them being the team.
