Houston Astros owner Jim Crane just walked through the lobby at the owners’ meetings and said: “If you want to talk about baseball, I’ll talk about baseball. What else do you want to talk about? Any other issues ...” at which point two police officers escorted him away.
Sounds like the first indictment just dropped. Bet Crane turns on everybody else. Just a self interested billionaire. Luhnow and Hinch getting their doors kicked in at 4 am.

Well, Manfred yesterday says this is solely a matter with the Astros, yet key figures now manage Boston and New York.
Manfred promises a thorough investigation.
How does that work?
A guy that can alienate his own fanbase by demoting a hero's son to fill the position with his own isn't going down quietly.

Reporters of any breed are the whiniest group with the biggest victim complex. they're now upset that the police are keeping them from harassing the owners at the owner's meetings and that hotel management is making them purchase rooms if they'd like to loiter around the hotel.

This is more egregious than the steroid era put together. Shame.

For the record, “was your team illegal cheating electronically during games?” is a question about baseball.
Muh virtues!

Why would I do that? As they say, banners hang forever. Jomboy's little fairytale doesn't change that.

The jig is up. Hinch is finished in this town. And not soon enough.

The strongest leaf blower known to man ain't knocking down that banner.

Members of the club’s 2017 coaching staff, including manager A.J. Hinch, were among those to interview with investigators, with a source familiar with the investigation telling Verducci that Mike Fiers’ description of the club’s sign-stealing operation has proven accurate
quote:
According to Verducci’s report, the scheme–which is said to have relied upon a center-field camera, dugout televisions, and trashcans to signal forthcoming pitches to club hitters–was used for a period of “about three months” in 2017, but investigators are still trying to determine whether the club deployed this system during the playoffs.

2017 Home record—48-33
2017 Away record—53-28
There’s about two, maybe three seconds (depending on the pitcher) between the catcher being set and the ball being delivered. So you’re telling me that this cheating system is going to get the sign from the outfield, radio it to the hallway behind the clubhouse, have the guys bang on a trashcan, get the signal to the batter and have him process the information within two, three seconds tops?
Also, the guy in the outfield with the camera has to figure out which sign is the indicator so they’re stealing the correct signal, which could change from inning to inning or batter to batter.
If the Astros are actually capable of this, they may also be capable of f*cking your wife or girlfriend while you’re in the room without you knowing. That might be something you’re into, though.

He doesnt need to pick up and indicator if theres no one on base. Teams are using one sign.
The Astros have such a shithole fan base.

So they are the Patriots of the MLB? Hang the banners

What a fantastic melt from Astros fans this has been. This has been super interesting to everyone except dudes with Bergman profile pics. They went from calling JomBoy a bitter conspiracy theorist, to “everyone does it nbd”, now to just being generally mad people keep talking about it.
