The B1G was also 6-3 in the playoffs, and one of those Ls was Oregon playing OSU so 5-2 outside that. Again, far and away the best record where the SEC was 2-3
We’re in agreement that the top 3 in the B1G was better than the SEC’s top 3. But thats it. The B1G was top heavy and pretty terrible from mid to bottom.

Listen, sure the SEC is the best from top to bottom but so what? You don’t get hardware for that. No one cares if your 4th best team is better than someone else’s 4th best. All that matters is hardware and the BIG ran roughshod the past 2 years over the SEC. Heck, even the favorite whipping boy on this board (ND) took down the SEC’s champion and it wasn’t really close.

None of us have a clue who the best team is right. It could be Ohio St. it could be Miami. It could be UGA or Ole Miss. It could be any of 25 teams. We’ll know in a few months.

Based on what?

The only results we have….literally played on the field, say otherwise

The ACC and Big 10 have more teams than SEC and Big 12.

With NIL you will see the draft numbers start to even out. GT themsleves will have more guys drafted in the 2026 draft than the past 5-7 drafts combined because we can buy players now.The SEC use to have backups drafted which they should have. But with NIL and the portal those backups are transferring out. The SEC glory days are over due to the portal and NIL. They may still win a Natty but not at no where near the percentage as the last 25 years. Since they playoffs started the SEC is 0 for 2.

I’m arguing the top half of the B1G was better than the SEC and the evidence is convincing

There's no way you're arguing 9 teams
Are you really here to quibble over whether or not 7-6 USC was better than 8-5 Texas A&M ?

Or are you arguing that 2024 Oregon, Penn State, & OSU were better than Texas, UGA, and 3 10-3 SEC teams? Because I'm thinking OSU is doing a LOT of lifting for you here

This entire argument is dumb anyway. At the end only 1 team is standing, not a conference. I know I won’t be cheering if Miami makes it thru. Will UGA fans be happy if Bama or Ole Miss wins a Natty?

The players are now mercenaries who get paid. They are not loyal to any school or fanbase. Sure, you have guys like Simpson and Gunnar who are loyal and are getting playing time but who cares about conferences. A game is a game.

OSU PSU Oregon Indiana Illinois Michigan USC Iowa Minnesota were better than the top of the SEC

USC Michigan and Illinois beat the 4/5/6 teams head to head from the SEC and OSU beat Texas and Tennessee. I don’t know how those 5 results, along with Oregon and PSU being really good, don’t mean the top half is better. It’s simple data.

This is the first time in a long time I think there was a very valid argument
