re: The ACC Commissioner…
Big10: Come and make an alliance with us. We shall protect you from the big bad SEC.
Pac12: Okay. Sounds good.
ACC: Yes!
Pac12: Why are you putting on that Apron?
Big 10: Because we are going to have a fine feast to celebrate our new alliance.
Pac12: I see. That sounds nice.
Big10 (*Draws ovals on Pac-12's lower back. Labels one USC and the other UCLA*)
ACC: What is that for?
Big10: We are marking the Pac-12's most important areas. We need to know where they are if we are going to defend them from the vicious SEC.
Pac12: Good. I certainly need protection.
Big10 (*sharpening butcher knives*) Oh yes, you really do.

re: The ACC Commissioner…
Look this horse is dead and now turned to glue.

5-6 teams deserved to be there, yet the NCAA or whoever has a 4 spot roster to fill. No way anyone left out does not have a legitimate gripe.

But all I keep hearing is Bama shouldn’t be there, (and as a loyal LSU fan I would pull for the Chinese National team over them but I digress).

Bama lost to Texas. Texas won their conference

Texas lost to Oklahoma. A quasi-irrelevant team this year. Not horrible yet not great.

FSU went undefeated yet didn’t play anyone great, although LSU was 5 at the time of their win.

Washington deserves it.

Michigan deserves it.

Georgia should be there but they didn’t win their conference. Hmmmmm I remember 2011 when Bama didn’t win their conference and went to play LSU (and then beat us).

So FSU needs to focus on beating Georgia and pray that they can keep that momentum for next year and STFU. But I do get it - we’d be upset too.

Due to Clemson. That was because Clemson had 2 transcendent QBs. During their run that was the knock on Clemson was their weak conference schedule. The Big 10 was always the tougher conference so your "book" is grossly inaccurate.

Merit? So by your logic Liberty should be in with 13-0 record.

re: The ACC Commissioner…
Feels like this topic has been beat to death but…..
The BCS was dropped in favor for a 4 team playoff to eliminate this problem. Alabama lost at home by double digits and they never looked dominant all year including needing a Hail Mary to beat a 6 win auburn team.

Texas lost to Oklahoma.

Easily could have thrown in the undefeated teams and the 4th spot would go to whoever you want to argue is most deserving between the 1 loss teams but my guess is Texas would get it over Georgia and Ohio State, and obviously Alabama since they beat them head to head.

There were no dominant undefeated teams but there weren’t any clear cut great 1 loss teams either. Michigan, Washington, FSU and then Texas should have been the playoffs this year.

re: The ACC Commissioner…
PAC 12 still exists, even with only 2 teams next year. They have two years to secure at least six more teams to continue after that. Conferences require at least 8 teams and they have two year grace period to stay legit.

re: The ACC Commissioner…

4 best teams.

FSU beat two SEC teams, UF and LSU (beat us worse than Alabama, the only common opponent), won the ACC, and went undefeated. They were left out not because Alabama had a better resume (they lost at home by 10, and scuffled in numerous games, including the iron bowl), but because their starting QB got hurt. The committee made that pretty clear.

FSU is the only undefeated power five champion to ever be left out of the playoffs (and will be the last thanks to the expanded playoff).

FSU earned a chance to compete for a title. Alabama benefited from an injury, the eye ball test, and blue blood status/tv interests/conference affiliation.

So does ALABAMA.

Also, under Bobby Bowden, FSU had the chance to join the SEC but declined to do so, preferring to remain in the ACC.

Why did Bowden do that? Many say it was because he figured it would be more easy to win the NC if the stayed out of the SEC.

You're arguments are so illogically and ignorantly biased its ridiculous... You're essentially saying that the BIG10 is superior to the ACC because Clemson happened to be phenomenal both years they won the 'ship... You take away a team from a conference and then judge the conference, do that enough and eventually there wont be any winners or losers.
quote:

The Big 10 was always the tougher conference
Again, except for the 2 years when Clemson was good, right? How tough is the BIG10 without tOSU? Wonder why you didn't mention anything about the 2 years/teams when tOSU didnt absolutely embarrass themselves... If it wasn't for tOSU's 3 wins in those 2 years, then the BIG10 would have ZERO wins

so your "book" is grossly inaccurate.
my book may be "gRoSsLy iNaCcUrAtE", but yours is straight up fiction and made up...

Its not actually. On any measure the B1G is the superior conference to the ACC. Ohio State is not the only competitive or top program in the B1G. The ACC's best year was the COVID year when Notre Dame participated in the Conference.

quote:

Again, except for the 2 years when Clemson was good, right?

No even when Clemson won the National Title twice the B1G was still the superior conference. Clemson might have been the best team that year but their conference was not better than the B1G.

.

Inaccurate yet again. The B1G is widely known as the second best conference and the biggest competitor to the SEC.

I’m pretty sure you don’t even think before you just start typing…

quote:

Ohio State is not the only competitive or top program in the B1G.

They’re literally the only BIG10 team thats ever won a playoff game.

quote:

The ACC's best year was the COVID year when Notre Dame participated in the Conference.

So again, I guess you’re just going to ignore when Clemson won it all TWICE, outside of the 2020 Covid year, (one time/year totally dominating every other conference’s ‘best team’ along the way)?

quote:

No even when Clemson won the National Title twice the B1G was still the superior conference. Clemson might have been the best team that year but their conference was not better than the B1G.

This doesn’t even make sense. Honestly it’s like you completely ignore the on field results and just use your imagination or bias to judge/evaluate the strength of a conference/team…
In 2016 and 2018 (the 2 years that Clemson won their ‘ships) the ACC and BIG10 played a total of 14 games vs. each other. Resulting in an even .500… The BIG10 was 7-7 and the ACC was 7-7 as well… In 2016, the ”superior” BIG10 was an embarrassing 2 - 6 against the ACC.

The BIG10 is only the
quote:

superior conference
in your fictional fairy tale book. This “BIG10 is the 2nd toughest conference blah blah blah” line of wishful thinking, is why we see teams get embarrassed and exposed in the CFP’s perennially. They purposefully overrate and overhype these teams (all while knowing the truth) strictly for financial and monetary reasons/benefit. If there wasn’t at least a hint/semblance of parity then they know CFB would eventually inevitably end up a “southern” niche type of sport similar to college baseball (although baseball is gaining popularity and growing here recently the last few years)

SEC has a losing record to the ACC this year so do you believe the ACC is a tougher conference than the SEC? If your answer is no then you concede that head-to-head matchups is not the leading factor. If every year you could matchup the best teams against each other then that stat would hold more water.

quote:

They’re literally the only BIG10 team thats ever won a playoff game.

And Clemson is the only ACC to win a playoff game…but again the conference top to bottom is more than two individual teams (1 from each side).

You are one of few people to have the opinion that the ACC is the better conference especially this year but you are free to your opinion. Your liberal tactic of resulting to insults while making your arguments is quite comical. Have a good one.
