Magic
MJ
Barkley
Bird
Olajuwon

Just an all around monster team on both ends of the court. Combines stats 136 pts, 45 rbs, 29 ast, 10 stl, 6.6 blocks per game. Thats an average of 27/9/5.8/2/1.3 per player. They did it all. On top of that, probably the most efficient scoring team. Barkley led the league with 63% FG . MJ 53.5%, Bird 52.5%, Olajuwon 51.4%, Magic 49.7%. All can shoot free throws. Also, MJ and Olajuwon were on all-defensive 1st team with MJ being Defensive player of the year.

List me a team that can challenge this team. Maybe the 88-89 team where you take you bird and put in Malone.

2003-04

Kidd
Kobe
Duncan
Garnett
Shaq

That's a nasty defensive team with prime Shaq bulldozing on offense.

I'd love to see some of those older teams play 2014-15 with Klay (3rd team) subbed in for Marc Gasol under today's rules.

Steph
Jimmy
Klay
Lebron
AD

That's an insane lineup for modern spacing.

A great rebounding and blocking team but not as well rounded. Weaker in the steal department. Kidd shot 38% that year. Shaq can’t shoot free throws. No threat shooting 3s.

James Edwards had one of the most unstoppable fadeaways.

There’s another rocket that has this resume. These are all time rankings

MVP shares - 12th
1st team all nba awards - 16th
One of 6 players who has been top 3 in MVP voting 5+ times
Points per game - 10th
True shooting - 14th
PER - 10th
WS48 - 8th
BPM - 6th
OBPM - 5th
VORP - 20th

Whether you favor stats or media voted awards, hard to have this player anywhere outside the top 15-20 right?

Well, clearly above a James Harden or a Kobe, to be certain.

I agree to an extent, because I think those Rockets would have dethroned the Bulls at least one of those two seasons, but I also think peak Barkley is a little underrated because the Sixers were so bad. Dude was an absolute force of nature back when he was a coast-to-coast, dunking on everybody type of player in the late 80's. Phoenix Barkley was a good player and gave Jordan a good go of it, but his game had changed a bit too much for me.

Oh, and yes, this 1988 team would have beaten any other team outside of five years of them by ten or more. Magic could have averaged 30 a game any of his good years if he wanted to...Kidd couldn't even dream of it.
