I can easily play this game then.
The Patriots are missing their two starting All-Pro caliber tight ends (injury and murder/all around assholishness), All-Pro caliber OT (injury), All-Pro caliber DT (Wilfork), past pro-bowler but lost a step (Kelly), two of the three starting LBs (Mayo - All Pro and injury, Spikes - one of the best run defenders in the league), and another pro-bowler who's lost a step (Adrian Wilson) at safety.
Hell, our receiver corps have been injured all year as well. We are playing Austin freaking Collie and giving him snaps for Chrissakes.
If the Patriots weren't that injured, they would have whooped some serious arse this year, hypothetically of course.

You might want to stop with trolling. I never claimed the Saints were the "Super Bowl Champz".
Saints would have beaten the Patriots on the road if the blatant hold is called (fact)
I say the Saints are better than the Patriots (opinion) -- which is what the OP was asking for

I think it's accurate. But I also think the Saints proved they were the third best team in the NFC this year.
With better weather coming earlier in the divisional game, I'm thinking it's only a 3 point decision either way.

It's reasonable to say that the Saints are one of the four best and better than New England, Carolina, and San Francisco. It is reasonable to disagree with such an opinion.

They were 2-1 against what I assume are your #2 and #4
I don't think you can say that there is any way you can objectively differentiate between New Orleans, Carolina, and San Francisco.
Carolina split with San Francisco
Carolina split with the Saints
The Saints beat San Francisco
If the Saints wouldn't have choked against Carolina, there was no way they weren't beating San Francisco this week at home, and then losing to Seattle next week.
You don't need to be a Saints homer to say that. The Saints are on a different level at home, and crap on the road.

at least we can take some comfort in the fact that we have nothing to do with daniel snyder

As your team can take comfort in their recliners while watching the games this weekend.

lol what? No way you don't beat the 9ers at home?

and the greatest comfort of all, that we are not yankees

The saints being a dumpster fire on the road= the best 4 teams in the final four. The only toss up is the 9ers and the saints. I think it's a toss up, but it's not like the saints could win enough games on the road to even get home field, or NOT play the Seahawks at home before the nfccg. Also the 9ers had a better record in arguably a stronger division than the saints... yeah, they got it right.

I believe that.
Yeah, Ahmad Brooks, blah blah blah.
49ers get called for 12 men in the huddle, it's 10-9 at halftime and maybe things turn out different yesterday.
