I wish the US team responded with something like “yes, it was built by our ancestors who were first generation immigrants seeking better opportunities, better lifestyles, and leaving crappy situations back on that side of the Atlantic. They made a permanent move and embraced being Americans. You may be familiar with their stories, because it’s the same as many of your stories, except that instead of coming through Ellis Island, you moved to a mansion in Jupiter.”
His wife is from the charming European village of Chicago

I say this as someone who is excited for this weekend but damn can this thing just hurry up and start already. So much buildup and talk for what seems like an eternity.

If he doesn't like America' and doesn't want to play for USA team who cares , if he thinks America is not worthy of playing for why don't he move back to England where he spent 4 great years of his life and stay there. Seems like he just says those things because his dad wants him to say it.

Y’all are taking this shite way too far
Luke Poulter was raised by one of the biggest Ryder cup stars for Europe & apparently says he wouldn’t want to play for US Team.
It’s not that serious, he was just raised to be a fan of his dad’s team. Where did he ever say anything negative about the country?
I don’t even know why we’re talking about Luke Poulter… I guess because some reason pride thinks Rahm’s 4yo son will be die hard US fan in the 2029 Ryder Cup

Do not, I repeat , do not miss the fairway.

Everyone who is on the grounds is commenting that the rough is way shorter than it typically is for amateur rounds, let alone a tour competition. With the rain expected today, this is going to be a dart contest from everywhere on the course.

Naw baw
They cut the rough to 2 1/4” along fairways. A little deeper around greens.
Usually its 3 1/2 for everyday hackers playing out there
Its set up for US bombers to miss fairways and not be super penalized

Smylie said the rough is a complete inconsequential miss this week. Which honestly kinda sucks

I agree. It will be interesting what Keegan does with Bryson and Young. Data golf is arguing that it does not make sense to play 2 bombers together in foursomes because the odd holes allow you to hit driver on every non-par 3 while the evens take driver out of your hand for 2-3 holes. So, grouping long hitters together means you likely have to play 2 non-bombers in another group. You end up at a disadvantage on those odd hole. However, Bryson and Young play the same ball, and an odd one at that. So, what is the bigger factor; maximizing distance in this bomber's paradise or having guys be comfortable with their typical ball?

My best guess is we send out:
Bryson-JT
Scottie-Henley
Young-Griffin
Xander-Cantlay
Europe goes:
Rahm-Hatton
Aberg-Hovland
Rose-MacIntyre
McIlroy-Fleetwood

It sucks when missing the fairway does not matter at all, and I think it's going to hardly matter at least at the beginning of the week.

Eh. I like scoring

Scoring is fun. I just like when jumpy lies from the rough aren’t able to stop on a wet course.
Hopefully they’ll be able to dry up the greens somehow. I’m not sure how Bethpage does that though.
