This year in div 1-3 select and NS only best of 3 championship series will be played in sulphur. Lower divisions remain single game semi and finals.

How often do they lose prior to the semis for it to be something Cecchini needs to worry about his seeding?

They have before…

Barbe’s seeds since seeding began in 2008

5, 4, 7, 5, 1, 1, 1, 5, 1, 2, 4, 1, COVID year, 1, 1, 2, 1

So, not once in the last 8 seasons and 4 times in the last 16 has Barbe been seeded lower than 4 with 3 of those being at 5 and once they were 7

Cecchini is crunching power points? Nah

Helping smaller schools and their coaches get points more likely. Giving those kids the opportunity to say they played Barbe, while letting underclassmen get some experience and his starters some rest and/or work on things

Hated him on the other side of the field, but his motivations and priorities are not driven by power points. JMO

It’s a natural skew though. SE Louisiana 5As have like 40 5A schools and a bunch of 4A in driving distance, while districts 1, 2, and 3-5A have to play lower classifications that will win a bunch of games against 1A, B, and C schools

thing is barbe plays in the toughest district in the state and all the 5a schools within driving distance are in the district

but it doesnt matter....barbe doesnt need power points.

Y’all might as well rename this thread ‘The Chalmette, West Monroe, Barbe, and Catholic Baseball Circle Jerk’ thread because those are the only teams that’s talked about here

i think everything has been moved to DH on Thurs and Friday.

I think all of the games against Barbe are at Barbe and all others are in Sulphur at McMurry. McNeese plays at home so wont be playing there.

barbe isnt playing Beaumont Kelly because they are hosting them later this year in a 3 game series.

Catholic beating West Monroe 9-0 in the 2nd inning. This will be 4 in a row over the Rebs.

10-0 Catholic mid 2. Catholic missed a grand slam foul by 6-7 feet in the first too. They can swing it. I believe 3 HBP and a couple walks to get it going in the 2nd. Then 2 throws to first missed to get runners to 3rd. Then the floodgates as they just pounded the ball. They had 1-2 seeing eye singles, but man they crushed everything else. Fun team to watch.

Throw in an error and a single and it’s 14-0. WM looks like it’s the first scrimmage of the year and Catholic looks like the team to beat.

Another error while typing
