How do brackets work? Top 8 have first round bye and every round is best of 3 now?

Sounds right.

Saw New Iberia vs. Southside earlier. Southside is a damn good team on the bubble.

Probably be 6 since I don’t see us being under .500

Before we had wildcards in 1983, 2 top 10 ranked 9-1 teams missed the playoffs in football. Irony is that they both were ranked ahead of district rivals that made the playoffs

Every single one of those teams would be top 16 in Division 1 Select lol. Absolutely brutal bracket I can’t think of another bracket in any sport that will have this many good teams left out.

Slidell no hits us tonight 6-0…

They beat us again with Bryce Wilson pitching at Suarez 1-0… setting up Slidell vs Northshore for the district 7-5A championship…

Bryce’s last four starts: 1-0 loss, 2-0 loss, 2-0 win, 1-0 loss. That’s about how far we are out of the playoffs

Opposing pitching been that good, the bats aren't very good...or a combination of both?

We’ve lost 16 games. In those losses we’ve averaged under 1.5 runs per game. We’ve given up four or fewer in a loss seven times.

I think we have three sure wins left (Salmen twice and McDonogh 35) and a tossup game against Shaw to determine if we have a winning season or we go 17-17… too far behind now to sneak into the top 24

WM beats Neville 5-4 for their 12th straight win. Still undefeated in district with only Ruston left to play. Record up to 20-7.

how is this possible? I thought the board said that Barbe and WM sucked this year because they lost a couple games early? How can they keep getting away with this?

question now becomes....is 5 more wins going to be enough to get WM in the top 8 to make sure they host quarterfinal round? Wins over Ruston and Buckeye should be good power point boosters but

Sam Houston has Sulphur, grand lake and Vanderbilt Catholic to boost theirs

dutchtown still has Live Oak, win even 1 and they are prolly in top 8 but maybe not, gonna be close. Lose both and they are out. If they win 1, Barbe prolly takes the #1 seed

Walker will need to win out to stay top 8. I think they can but the game against central wont be easy

Northshore has a very hard schedule to finish against Slidell, ED white and VC.....win out and they are 100% in. Sitting at #6 right now, they may be able to lose 1 and stay in top 8

Unless southside beats barbe too, they are prolly out. They have to do a better job scheduling in the non district part of schedule for sure. They have STM too this week. Make or break for them.

Sulphur can not lose both the SH and lose to Tuerlings and expect to make playoffs.

as mentioned, the drop off from Div 1 to Div 2 is nuts. Last 5 or 6 seeds in Div 2 will have losing record and Div 1 is gonna have teams with a greater than 60% win % miss out. Div 3 is not nearly that type of drop off. Div 4 is the worst though, multiple teams that have won less than 5 games will make the playoffs.

Select side is just terrible in every division at the bottom half of bracket. Even Div 1 Select will have multiple teams with losing record in. I mean Div 3 select will have St Louis being a top 8 seed and they have a 10-18 record right now. Granted they have one of the toughest schedule, still hard

WM has a lot of wins from out of state teams that have not been added in yet. Top 8 shouldn’t be a problem if they win out.

out of state hasnt been added to the geauxprep standings? because if that is the case, barbe could end up number 1 as they have a lot of out of state wins

Going for certain to 28-0 Covenant Christian at Erath tomorrow.

I'm trying to remember if E.D. White was undefeated or had one loss when I went to see them play at Kaplan in the playoffs 25 years ago.

They had Jonathan Zeringue. Kaplan made a game out of it. I don't recall the kid's name, but I think the KHS pitcher hit a grand slam although they lost.

ETA I've posted this before. I apologize for being repetitive. Old people nostalgia problems.

Idk. I know they have WM’s loss to Northwest Rankin as 5 wins, they have 10. Pretty sure less for Southlake Carrol and Rockport too. As well as wins against another Rockport team, Brandon MS, and Dallas Jesuit.

Covenant Christian fights back from a 4-0 deficit to beat Erath, 14-5.

Neither threw their top two guys, to the best of my knowledge.

I was told this is the first team in Louisiana to go 30-0?

Live Oak beats Opelousas Catholic 1-0

Walker takes the series from Denham Springs and Prairieville beats St Amant to take the series.
