I just don't get why you'd turn up just to be a prick.

Cantlay is leaning all in on being the most disliked player on tour.

He’s completely expendable

Only good thing about this is that Zach Johnson will go down as the worst captain in Ryder Cup history.

Relying on someone from Iowa to put points on the board..

He’s the Kirk Ferentz of golf

There's reports about Cantlay being quite vocal about not being paid and causing friction in the US locker room.

Then don’t even show up if you’re going to be prick.

The hate I have for Cantlay after the Masters is next level. The guy is a supreme douchebag.

Right, everyone including the viewing public is very happy to not have Patrick Cantlay sitting over shots for 15 minutes every hole

I don't give a shite if the sky sports report on Cantlay is true if they steal a win in this match. Would be absolutely massive.

If the US somehow gets a full point here they carry some momentum into best ball and just a 2.5 - 1.5 win in best ball could get to 10-6 which we know from history is at least doable

Afternoon matches might be set up well for the US but it it won't matter.

Even going 3-1 they would be down 10.5 to 5.5 which has never been done

To be fair the US won outright after trailing 10-6 in 99 and they can retain at 14 this year but I can't see any way in hell they could go 8-3-1 in singles

Sam Burns and Collin against Hovland and Aberg right off the top

You missed a glorious display of ineptitude by America’s premier pairing. It started off with them missing a few fairways, and Scheffler missing every putt he had.

By the end, neither could hit a decent shot. I think they had about 8 strokes on the 11th hole, and they never found the fairway or the green. They finally picked up their ball and walked off the course.

Hovland and Aberg closed out the match halfway through playing the 11th.

Sam Burns

This was the guy that should have been left at home. Keegan Bradley should have been on the team over Burns.

Keegan said in an interview recently that he would have picked JT over himself too so clearly he's aware of this as well.

I give 0 fricks Burns won the match play or that he and Scottie are buddies. The dude went winless in the fricking presidents cup against the worst international team ever because of all of the Liv absences.

Yeah, let's blame Burns for the deficit here.

He played well. Go back and look at the analysis and grades of every golfer in the Presidents Cup. Burns was one of the top Americans. He and Scheffler have a terrible record together, but Burns isn’t the reason.
