It is so stupid. Here's the pairings:

Tommy/Rory vs. JT/Spieth

Vik/Ludvig vs. Scottie/Brooks

Lowry/Straka vs. Max/Harmon

Rahm/Hatton vs. Xander/Cantlay

Zach Johnson just confirmed the players on the team are pissed and upset and that his text messages have blown up with players expressing their anger. He won’t reveal however which players were the most pissed.

It should be JT for being stuck with Speith in alt shot, or Xander and Cantlay for throwing them to the wolves against Rahm.

Already starting with excuses.

Zach Johnson says the American team has had to "navigate some unforeseen things," specifically mentioning "healthy," and adds he's "thankful we have a great team doctor."

What? ZJ bitching at the players performance? Or something else? I'm asking, trying to work while on 2hrs sleep and not following the events after Day 1.

It seems one side loses, which causes them to care and the winning side to not give a shite for the next two years, thus causing lopsided Ryder cups

Scheffler, Harmon, Homa, Cantlay playing again is just dumb.

They have all stunk. Plus pure gamble on JT/Spieth again?

Maybe the two euros heft starts taking a toll after 54holes in 28 hrs?

Not sure how to feel. Getting wrecked on the scoreboard after day 1.

Even with the lopsided score, it took some straight up heroics/luck or we’d be be looking at a much more manageable deficit.

They hit ridiculous shots in big moments while we did the opposite and here we are.

Plus the Euros seem so much more prepared for it this year than we are, mentally and physically.

My honest take is I don’t think any of the younger guys, including the euros, care much anymore. They all have American wives, live in America, have American children, and play on the American tour

What gets either side to care is getting their arse kicked the 2 years before, so they get in in gear enough a little bit leading up to it

On what planet do you send Spieth back out there in the first group. Unreal

I remember when he was going to be the next Tiger.

Fun times back then

With how loose he was down the stretch, I don’t know how you send him out for foursomes.

I would have homa/Clark for sure based on today, but who do you replace Spieth with? At least he looked good for part of the day

Your other options are burns, Fowler, Colin, Harmon. They all liked like shite

Zach Johnson says the U.S. team room has been hit by some sort of illness.

“We’ve got some congestion and some signs of things that are unfortunate.”

"I'm being honest, it kinda has spread through my team.”

(didn't specify what *it* is)

The sniffles they guys are experiencing is due to the fact they got their asses handed to them in front of the world. #Cryingisnotanillness
