No team has ever come back from 4 points or more after the first day. So baring some miracle it’s done

Burns and Clark. Bryson, D. J. and hell even Captain America are all far better.

Clark was an auto pick to start, and he had 5 birdies today, the most of any American…..

If all those guys are better they could have won the us open this year and likely auto qualified as well

This is the first time the United States has not won a single match in a day at the Ryder Cup

The highs and lows this board has with Ryder cup is wild

2014-holy shite these guys suck and are young. We will get crushed for years to come

2016- we just beat their arse. Hard for me to see the US losing any of these going forward. Patrick Reed is a savior

2018- Christ we suck. Reed blew up the team and are doomed for the future

2021- frick yeh, biggest win ever. With these young guys and team unison without Reed, we will never lose again

2023- Jesus we such and will never win again. We need Reed

Brooks Koepka calls out Jon Rahm: "I mean, I want to hit a board & pout just like Jon Rahm did. But, you know, it is what it is. Act like a child. But we're adults, we move on."

Still outplayed every American not named JT today. Honestly he scored better than JT but that approach on 18 gives the nod to JT

lsupride87 once again bringing rationale to a heated golf thread. Gotta love it.

Don't understand this without context. Weird quote by itself, what is the context?

Outside of that, the auto qualifiers for Euros dominated while the US auto qualifiers were non-existent.

That sums up the day.

(It's like most on this board expect captain's picks to win the day by a mile)

The Euros Captains picks out played ours, but the Euros studs smoked our best players. Jordan looked like Ty Webb on the back nine at Bushwood …

I hope Clark can rebound after that choke job from 220 on 18.

Brooks Koepka is responsible for 33% of the US points and he didn't even play in the first round alternate shot portion of the day.

Europe knew what they were doing. They moved the Italian Open to Marco Simone 3 years ago, so many of these guys have played tournaments here recently. Two of the captains picks have won at Marco Simone (partially why they were selected) and others like Fitz, Rory, and Fleetwood have placed well.

They out prepared the US by a large margin and it shows.

I hope Zach throws out whatever strategy the analysts came up with and plays the top 8 for both sessions tomorrow. No Speith, Burns, Harmon or Fowler.

Y'all are smarter than me and can figure out the optimal pairings.

Spieth and Thomas out first tomorrow.

How can you run Speith out there in alt shot after his back 9 today

You lil girls give up too easy. We’re going to turn this around with a 3-1 win in the morning session and then all bets are off. Put JT with someone with a pulse and that’s a W. Scheffler/Koepka is a W. Wyndham/Homa get a W. You’re welcome Zach.
