I love it, because its made odds go up on other great players. I got Reed at 56/1 and Stenson 35/1

Dawgsontop, thanks for posting that article it was a good read. It had to be tough for his parents to watch from home.

My interaction with Patrick at the Zurich one year was nothing but cordial. I was working the 6th tee during the pro-am. His amateur partners had to use a tee about 70 yards up from the back tee and all 3 were there waiting to hit. Pat walked to the back tee alone with his driver and we started talking. He was showing me his new driver talking about how he really loved it and it was perfect. When he hit, he tried to cut the corner over the water but hooked it. I was shocked when he just laughed and said "guess it's not as perfect as I thought". He hit a second ball over the edge right where he wanted it to go. Every day when he came to the 6th he told me hi and seemed pleasant. It was strange though because he never really talked with his playing partners.

Glad he won, but I would have preferred Rickie or Jordan win.

Pro ams are weird like that. I used to caddy for the pro am at the FedEx St. Jude in Memphis every year when I was a teenager. Some of the players barely spoke at all to their group, some joked around just like most people do during a round of golf. I remember distinctly Willie Wood. We were supposed to be playing with Greg Norman but he backed out the night before due to an "injury" (he won the tournament 5 days later) so we got paired with Wood. Very meh golfer with only 1 career win, but dude did not say a word to any of the group the entire round. It's pretty shitty because these guys paid a lot of money to play a round with a professional but he may as well have not even been there. On the other hand, we played one year with Dimarco. He was definitely plenty cocky but he at least conversed with the group all day like you would expect.

Daly, admittedly so, wasted close to $50m in alcoholic led gambling after winning British Open(right?) and getting approx $15-20m in all types proceeds from that win

And iirc that was 20-25 years ago so majors should be worth much more now? In ‘15 Speith, after winning Masters etc, had endorsement deals jump from $6m to $25m. I haven’t researched how far above $6m his endorsement in other years until now have increased but let’s just say he was only $15m above $6 then your easily seeing >$50m for a Masters victory 3 years later in endorsements for Speith. Idk if Reed will be as marketable as straight laced Speith but Reed’s bad boy image could possibly be marketed in an Oakland Raiderish way to benefit other advertisers and make him just as much or more with a good agent. Then you wonder if his wife and in laws would allow for that or anything at all. He has a dysfunctional personal life potentially holding him back compared to Speith

I’m hoping Reed and his adopted in laws(not in that order) don’t figure out how to waste his earnings!?

Anyone aware of commentators talking of Reed checking doors before he goes to sleep over and over at night??? They spoke briefly of it and went on ......

We have family member with OCD(I think that’s all but idk for sure) that’s increasingly done this after 2 babies the last few years and it’s a problem for the family. Just wondering if anyone knows of this as it affects the social skills of those affected oftentimes?

He doesn't show any OCD tendencies when playing. At least to me. And golf is a game where that could EASILY manifest itself.

But shite, keep me updated. Anything that will make me hate him even more is a go-zone.

That is so true, most are at least cordial to the amateurs but some are just cold. The craziest group I saw in person was Bubba Watson, playing with Willie, Jace, and Martin from Duck Dynasty. They would blow duck calls in the middle of each others swings...Bubba included. Bubba fit right in with the rednecks for sure.
