He doesn’t need to be doubling down on the victim card. Guy has been playing tournament golf for most of his life and knows he can’t do what he did. He got busted and should just say he was lost in the moment and knows better, even though that would be dishonest also. But at least he lies and still maintains some dignity and honor. Very disappointed with his lack of integrity. I have always rooted for Bryson but this kind of changes my perspective. If he WDs, it will be a major hit to his reputation not only from golf fans but from his playing peers.

I don’t see how people who have watched the full video can defend it.
He walked into the area and immediately started trampling behind the ball, then another time he took a huge step directly onto the clump in question.
I’m admittedly not Bryson’s biggest fan, but the way he trampled around was fairly egregious.
I’ll also say there are others out there that do the same shite and get away with it. Someone posted on X earlier that if the USGA would have done its job at the US Open, Wyndham would have shot +35 (that’s 315, pride) for how he trampled around.

the video i responded to, he walks in, sees if what his stance is like, when he does that he steps down some grass, then he goes and stands behind the ball to look at his shot, now im not certain he ended up hitting it the direction he was first looking, if he ended up hitting it more forward and the grass he stepped down was in his backswing then i can see the penalty.
edit: according to chatgpt he has to take his stance in the least intrusive way as possible, which i suppose he didnt do, so its probably barely a penalty because of that. but when i finally saw the video, he really didnt stomp all over quite like people were saying

I’m not against them penalizing Bryson but these dudes do shite like this all the time. What Clark did during the open was worse imo and nothing happened. They just pick and choose when they want to dock these dudes

I’m trying to bring some humor to the topic, posting that to me is just digging for some type of engagement. Your hyperbole is off the charts. I think he deserved the penalty assessed.

Obi you are shook. I am too. My son who is 10 is a massive Bryson fan. It was very rough for me to have to block his YouTube channel from him. I just can’t let someone like him with his Middle East type of horrific morals have an effect on him
