did you even attempt to read what I wrote?

He was standard Bryson day 1. The weather was bad and he sucks in any weather conditions. He didn’t “melt” because he did what was expected of him in that weather

Everybody talks about Scottie as the best iron player since prime Tiger
i dont really get this. Every fricker out there hits pure AF irons. It cones down to putting and the mental game. Thats what separates a world number 1.

Correct. That’s he so is much better than everyone else. And it’s not very close.

But a lot of players have to play scramble shots to recover from miss hits. Scottie very rarely has to scramble.

Why is this better than the us open? All the bitching about bad golf. This easy blowout course is a snooze fest

Take Scheffler out of this tournament and we have a great day today. There are about 10 golfers within 1 shot of each other playing for 2nd place. Big names, some not so known names, all of them right there between -8 and -9. It would be a great finish if not for the machine that is Scottie Scheffler dusting the field.

Was the 2000 US Open any fun when Tiger Woods won by 15?

I’m prepared for downvotes… Scottie has the potential to pass Jack. This run is prime Tiger-esque. If he stays focused / doesn’t have the injuries/off-course issues like Tiger did, he can do it. An average of 1.5 majors/yr in his 30s will do it, and he definitely has the potential.

Im a bryson guy cause he is the most entertaining player out there but bro you need to adjust your golf swing to flight the ball correctly and not depend on making a new golf ball. That seems fishy

And he was the only one under par. One of the most dominant performances I’ve ever seen on a pretty hard course.

seems to always have a couple of blow up holes that keep him from truly contending

Aberg has played well so far, but I wouldn’t say he’s “contending”

Oh no Aberg just blew up with a quad bogey

Brooks only won 8 times on the PGA Tour before he went to LIV at 32. Scottie already has 16 wins at 29. Different level of player.

He is not even close to a tiger like run yet. This will only be his 4th major. How many even have over 10 in the history of golf???? He is very steady and can hit double digits but I just don’t see him even catching tiger… and one of the greatest stats in sports history is Jack winning 18 majors and coming in 2nd 19 times. This will never be touched.

Counting PGA Tour wins instead of majors for a guy who has documented the fact that he doesn’t care about tournaments outside of majors seems disingenuous

Scottie is just playing PAR golf the rest of the way. No chance on taking any crazy chances…
