Dude worked his arse off to get to that unparalleled privilege. What’s stopping the other folks from doing that?

When Tiger was an amateur, a baby of 19, he signed a Nike contract worth over 40 million dollars. Before Tiger Woods ever played a round of golf as a professional he was a multimillionaire.

Now some of these average PGA players are signing 40 million dollar contracts with LIV. Thanks to LIV nothing is stopping some of these players from getting something similar to Tiger.

You guys didn’t actually think that Tiger came up with “Hello world” by himself?

That’s because he was the most accomplished amateur golfer since Bobby Jones, again, by working his arse off

I don’t care what the LIV guys do to be honest. Good for them, they got their payday.

He was chosen as the promised child because he was talented. Nike gave a child star 40 million dollars because he has incredible talent.

The last thing he should ever get as a billionaire is a public forum where he gets to tell his peers and fellow golfers not to get paid, it's bad for their work ethic.

We have high school players, these days, that aren't going to your college unless they get paid. How hypocritical do you want to get?

Yeah, those bums like Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood, Charl Schwartzel, and Patrick Reed don’t even know what a driving range or practice green look like.

Not a single professional golfer is allergic to hard work.

Yeah, Sherlock, had it not been for the hype from this guy's amateur career Nike and 40 million don't come a calling.

Nike invests in talent.

He was the chosen one because he was the chosen one

Nike had nothing to do with his GOATness

It seems like you’re saying if it wasn’t Tiger it would have been someone else

Nike invested because he had the best amateur career ever since being a professional golfer was common. Not because he simply had talent

He won three us Junior Ams. The most ever

He won’t the NCAA title

He won 3 US amateurs

The winner hasn't came from the same country in back to back years since Harrington won it in back to back in 2008. So Americans are cut this week

interesting.. that would narrow it down to either Rory, Rahm, or Smith for me. Anybody got a dark horse pick?

You shat on me for picking Zalatoris and then picked Rose?

Rose has been horrible for like 3 years

First off, I'm not picking Rose. But was asked who else could win it if not for the international favorites. "Dark Horse"
Last time I checked, Zalatoris' odds are half of which Rose's odds are.

Secondly, Rose finished 6th here in 2015 and has a three Top-15s in last six starts including a 4th place in Canada. So to say his form is bad is an insult.

Third, Rose has actually won a PGA event including a major so I'm not worried about him closing.

Finally, both Rose and Zalatoris have finished 2nd place at Augusta to which five of the T-6 finishers in 2015 at St.Andrews were former Masters champions. (Z Johnson, Spieth, Day, Willett, Garcia all T-6 or better that year) Adam Scott was T-10 and guys like Louis and Leishman we're T-2 are good at Augusta.

So there's obviously a correlation and Rose fits that model

Could be about the last time he was close to a win to be honest.

And t69 last week and t37 in the US Open. One of those top 15s was in the Zurich as well.

Lol, the dude has folded a shite ton of times.

And your overal logic is faulty anyway because we've had tons of first time major winners in the last 8 years or so. Hardly anyone outside of Keopka has been a multiple time winner in that period. Thomas has 2, Phil won one, tiger in 19.

Morikawa finished 71st in last year's Scottish Open before winning the Open. Last week's tournament means absolutely nothing.

He's also one of the best Iron players in the game and in his prime. Not a 40 something hardly competitive player for years.

If you give me an international to pick that isn't Rory, Rahm or Cam Smith I'm probably picking Matsuyama based on the Augusta trend.
