assessed a 2 shot penalty for throwing a club

If it was Rory the USGA would have ran and picked his club up for him and asked, “is there anything we can do to make the course more to your liking?”

This happens in most tournaments. Why is everyone acting like this is something odd? Tron Carter acted like this is his first ever golf tournament to watch. Total douche.

It’s totally normal, but the USGA got scared by the forecast and neutered the course and when that forecast was a bust, it was very scoreable.

We’ll see if they give the afternoon wave the same courtesy today

156 of the best golfers in the world, 16 shot under par in round one.

Let’s not act like guys were out there shooting -10 yesterday.

Because watering greens during the day is extremely odd at the US open…..

It was talked about so much this week because of how rare it is

True story about how I broke the habit of going nuclear during a round of golf as a professional. For you older gents, there were 2 guys on Tour with the nickname Volcano - Steve Pate and Dudley Hart. Both were know to have temper issues. I was close to that level of anger issue.

In a tournament, I was struggling and had a short wedge into a par 5. I hit it heavier than I wanted and angrily snapped my wedge over my knee. I then looked up to figure out how to play my inevitable chip shot from short of the green and watched the ball disappear into the hole for an eagle. I was so embarrassed that I’ve not thrown a club in anger since.

1,000s of players have thrown clubs without penalty

Why not just do one second of looking to see what Nieman did

Rahm got so lucky on that drive.

Also, I legit hate how scared of the golfers the USGA has become. Lose the course. Let players complain.

5 birdies in 6 holes for Niemann to get back to +4 (-4 in R2)

ETA: he made a 3 on 6 this time instead of an 11

Niemann picked his side and got his money. Why are you carrying the water for this guy?

+1 in a US Open is not playing like shite, moron.

I agree. When I made that post he was +2 and didn’t look too good. He’s playing better, I still don’t like the brat.

As streaky as he is, is it safe to say Clark is going to be putting on a ball striking clinic all week?

His play so far has really shown me how much I hate him. I’m angry that he’s leading the way

A final pairing with Harman might get the TV turned off.

Because I’ve seen 50 guys throw clubs on the PGA Tour and never seen a two stroke penalty assessed. I posted an example of Rory tossing a club 20 yards in last year’s US Open.
