Lol, you clearly lack an understanding of golf on a fundamental level. In those conditions on a 4 footer 0% chance you can just hit it through the break.
You can go listen to Brad faxon as well. He knows more than all of us combined on putting and said Rory went about the putt the absolute worst way he could have and he needed to hit it with pace

All of that is what will make this one of the all time great choke jobs. Him acting like a bitch and fleeing the scene will just amplify this forever.

I noticed that too. I thought he was going to miss it left based on Smylie's read.

I couldn’t believe he was aiming outside the hole, he did the old hit and hope. When it took firm and inside the left.

That has to be the third biggest choke in major history Norman losing a 6 shot lead to Faldo at Augusta in '96? Palmer losing a 6 shot lead to Casper at Olympic in '66?

What about that Frenchman at the British open?

Rory’s missed putt from point blank range reminded me of Scott Hoch’s infamous 2 putt at the 72nd hole of the masters.

It’s so easy to tell people who don’t play golf, or play twice a year at the local muny course.

He knows far more than you and Faxon

There is also a reason Smylie said what he said, another person who has played a little golf….

I don’t dislike Bryson but that interview after the tournament was phony. Seemed really forced.

I mean he seems like the adult version of this kid

The awkward, athletic, eccentric early years of Bryson DeChambeau

You can tell he's put a lot of work into communicating better and being a professional. Doesn't mean his feelings being expressed aren't genuine.

All of a sudden everyone is Ben Crenshaw after seeing it happen. It is easy to say "hit it with speed" now after Bryson won. If Rory power lips it to 6 feet and 3-putts he would be called dumb by the same group calling him a pussy now.

Rory played it like the person you are describing. The way to hit that is firm and inside the left edge, it was a 4 foot or less putt. Make the ball hit the back of the hole. Take the snap across the hole out of,play with speed.

Every single good golfer will say exactly this

Every bad golfer like myself will play it how Rory did

Yet, RB10 thinks what Rory did is the pro play

After watching that several times, I just don’t think he hit it hard enough. It broke a ton, but you can’t hit it that softly on a putt like that. You have to cram it in.

I agree with you that he didn't hit it hard enough, but damn that ball did dive hard right. Pretty crazy actually

A D1 college golfer that thinks it’s a good idea to jam in a downhill slider on greens rolling a 14, when the only threat to you is in the junk off the tee behind you?

Yeah, ok.

Oh it broke a ton, no doubt. I don’t think it was a simple one by any means. You gotta hit one like that a little harder. When you start worrying about what you have coming back, then you’re most likely going to miss it. It wouldn’t have dove so hard if he’d have hit it.

Yeah ok. When you’re worried about not missing that too bad then you’re going to miss.
