I hated RP for his actions off the field but I feel sorry for what he has done to himself and hope he gets things going and makes a decent future.
+1
It's not like the kid was selling drugs or beating women. He's just a screw-up who can't seem to take orders from authority figures.
And to the guy who things the NFL 'woke up': If they thought he could play, they wouldn't care about the baggage. In the NFL, it's all about Sunday. What you do from Mon-Sat only matters if it shows up in the news.

My friend who went to UT undergrad constantly gives me shite about RP. He was still bitter that RP chose LSU over TX and now is laughing his arse off about all the problems it's caused us. He also said that Colt McCoy was considering LSU but committed to UT when RP came here. Any truth to this?

The BIGGER NEWS ON A MUCH LARGER SCALE is that 'The Ticket' in Dallas actually discussed sports.
Those of you in Louisiana who have never heard the ticket, you're missing nothing unless you want to listen to grown men discuss grooming issues and the latest Hollywood gossip.
The Ticket swallows. I'm shocked someone heard Sports Talk on that 'sports radio station'. It's the lamest excuse for a sports station nationwide. Believe me. Stick with ESPN radio, you'll fare better.

He needs to be made a spectacle so kids with talent growing up are reminded that being physically gifted alone is not sufficient. Forever or just for a couple of years?
It is not matter of time, it is a matter of character...
how long does that take ?
can you say pacman jones...

Come one ...it is a great station....-lol
for metrosexuals who want to learn about grooming ....
the only one who used to do a good job was Chuck Cooperstein (sp?), he actually knew college football.

Give me a break. There are plenty of places for you guys who take yourself too seriously to go jack off to SPOOOORTS. At least the ticket is entertaining. Quit being a douchebag.

they didnt tell him he wouldnt be drafted they told him he wouldnt be drafted in the first 3 rounds. A team will definately pick him up in a late round based on talent alone

That the station bills itself aa a sports format is a fraud. I tuned into the station most weekdays in '04 & '05. Even when huge events were happening like March Madness, NFL playoffs, etc., the hosts talked about non-sports celebrity gossip and favorite foods constantly. If the station didn't have rights to the Cowboys games, I think that no sports fans would ever listen to it.
Anyone know who are the Cowboys? That is team that has not won a playoff game this century, much like another powerhouse, the Detroit Lions.

Given that the station was number one in their demographic before they owned the Cowboys rights, I would say that statement is false.
