Being originally from Houston I still love the Oilers. Bud Adams is a piece of shite and if I had the opportunity I would piss on his grave.

No the TEXANS ARE NOT BECOMING THE OILERS they cant, the Adams family owns the rights to the name, logo .team history

It is absolutely stupid that Houston isn’t the Oilers. Texans is the dumbest and laziest team name in the NFL by a large margin.

Pissing on Bud's grave is funny, he's buried down the street from me and I've had neighbors tell me that the cemetery had to put up cameras to monitor his headstone. F that prick

FWIW I believe the Titans still own everything related to the Oilers including trademarks, records, team colors, etc.

wish the Titans would just do this; rebrand back to the old team name. Those Oiler jerseys are all-time classics.

If they aren’t gonna give up the rights to the oilers at least rebrand the uniforms to oilers colors and scheme.

I just don't see why Adams is so hellbent on keeping the Oilers hostage when they don't even use it. If they had remained the Tennessee Oilers like when they first moved that's a different story.

Were you around Houston when they moved? There was so much bad blood on every side. The whole city hated Adams almost as much as they hate McNair now.

However, I guess Adams passed his petty hatred of how Houston treated him down to his kids. He's been dead for almost 10 years and the kids evidently still aren't over it. If the McNair's had half a brain (they've shown us they don't), they'd be trying to negoiate with the Adams family and the NFL to get that name back.

Or maybe they could just not have a team that is a dumpster fire and not have picked a really stupid team name to begin with.

The Titans decided to do a rebrand, but still hold the Oilers rights hostage even though a new team in Houston came along after they moved. That's petty shite.

There are rumors out there that they will be wearing the Oilers uniforms this year when they host the Texans.

Have no idea why the league can’t force the Titans to give up or license the Warren Moon era Houston Oiler logo rights to the Texans.

They did it with the original Browns when they left for Baltimore. It would be even easier now since the oilers logo and uniforms have been retired.

So if the Saints wanted to change their colors to black and silver, you mean to tell me the Raiders have no recourse?

Because there are no teams in professional sports with overlapping color schemes.

Why does every new branding change have to be so blah? That "H" logo is not unique in the slightest. Just like the "Commanders" new W logo.

There's a reason the Titans wore the Oiler throwbacks several seasons ago during the AFL 50th anniversary celebration instead of Houston... the Titans hold onto that lineage & history

While true, the Ravens were forced to leave all that behind in Cleveland. Why did the league treat the situation differently with respect to the Oilers/Titans

Change the name to Houston Plant Operators, Drillers, Pipeliners, Purple Drank. Almost anything other than the Texans.

these were the choices back in the day Apollos, Bobcats, Stallions, Texans, and Wildcatters.

Apollos or wildcatters were the only serviceable ones. They let fans vote but i think the Mcnairs just picked the texans cause space theme was played out and wildcatters is too close to Oilers
