A poster mentioned in the year long thread that he was moving to Texas.

Sorry, Didn’t see that thread.

The move can’t wait a couple weeks? Kinda bailed on his kids. Or was he told to resign before getting fired?

I heard he was told his contract wasn't being renewed, so he resigned on the spot.

STM seems to have more drama than your average high school.

It's always something with that school.

That statement applies to 90% of schools in this state.

Especially when it comes to baseball. Everybody and their brother plays travel ball so when kids get to HS they got 70 travel ballers for 25 spots and those daddies that paid all that money for Braxten to play ball get pissy when they realize they wasted their money.

Parents will be the death of high school sports. It's already happening in some states.

I wouldn't be shocked if travel baseball replaces high school baseball soon.

It 100% will. Kids and parents aren't a fan of accountability. Travel baseball coaches aren't checking grades or running a kid bc they got in trouble in Mrs. Smith's class. They aren't making kids pull the tarp or rake by home plate. They aren't making them run polls to get them in shape. They aren't making them lift weights. It's almost like travel ball isn't anything like HS or College baseball at all. Imagine that.

When travel ball became a business, it all went south.

I coached recently. Was involved in the high school game for 11 years. After seeing the trend, I'm done. Took some time off and now do not want to go back.

this is why I love coaching xc/track. There's no subjectivity. Clock/tape measure dont lie.

I had a parent get pissy with me because i pulled their kid from varsity the week of our league meet. We had an injured runner come back the week before and she ran faster so she earned her varsity spot. Mom/dad email me, the ad, and principal demanding an answer as to why their daughter wasnt running varsity. I just sent the spreadsheet of times for the season showing their little angel was no longer apart of our top 7. Solved that issue easy.

So much truth. Every kid these days from coach pitch through 8th grade plays travel ball and they still can't field, hit, or throw.

Isn't a parents deal at all. I'm friends w Kim B, the AD. Obviously he doesn't share details of confidential employment issues.

STM is one of the top athletic schools in the nation as far as its successes across the spectrum of athletics

The king always draws more attention than the little guys. No way a coach has ever been fired or resigned in high school during the year
