Win for both sides.

Bills needed a deep threat and the Vikings needed some cheap talent.

Regardless of the Hopkins trade this seems like a big time overpay. Lots of good receivers in the draft this year.

and Buffalo should still draft one of two other WRs

Doubt the Texans wanted any part of Hopkins in a Pats uniform

Should have dangled a 1st and a 4th I'm sure the Pat's have picks somewhere

Texans would not have picked up the phone.

Great haul for a WR that, everyone knew, was disgruntled. Vikings some bandits here.

Wow, the Vikings had an obviously disgruntled WR and walked away with a haul.

Edit: I swear I didn't read hoopsgalore's post before using both disgruntled and haul.

Pats tried to get Diggs. I would bet the Vikings leveraged that to get so much from the Bills

The two don't get along

once Cousins was extended Diggs made it clear he wanted out.

Bills could have got Hopkins on the cheap but ended up over paying for a much shittier WR.

Diggs is much cheaper than Hopkins.

Hopkins and the Cardinals are already working on a deal that will put him in Julio territory (likely well over $20M year). Diggs deal ($11.5M ish per year) is much more cap friendly.

Cap space matters for a franchise in Buffalo.

The Bills went into this offseason with 81 million in cap space and the Cards went in with 34 million

The Bills have 3 homegrown contracts for renewal that will eat up a decent portion of their cap (Matt Milano, Tre White and Dion Dawkins).

They’ve been stockpiling cap for this offseason for that reason bc they are also in a rookie QB window.

Still plenty of room for an extra 10 mil if the difference is getting Nuk and for way less of a price.
