This was his reaction to the Wilson signing in the FA thread

quote:

I figured you'd be hard as a rock over this though but you don't know ball so it doesn't matter.

And Wilson never had to deal w/Matt Canada as his OC. Arguably the worst OC in the NFL the last two decades.

And he's only here for this year. If you think that signals the end of Kenny in Pittsburgh then you're dumber than I thought.

The competition will be good for him.

I don't get this from Philly's perspective. You want your backup to play a similar style to the starter. Pickett isn't similar to Hurts.

Honestly a healthy Kenny Pickett can be just as effective or even more effective than Hurts because teams know that they stop the run against the present day eagles they can be beaten. With the addition of Saqhon Barkley teams will set up to stop the run. The knock on Hurts has been his passing even with stud receivers and a good tight end. If Hurts doesn't get it done passing wise maybe Pickett can as mentioned earlier that Matt Canada showcased nothing in vertical passing so maybe Pickett can actually sling it like we thought he could.

That said, I think trading for JF would be the right move for them. Let him "not be the starter" going into the year and learn, eat a little humble pie, and then he can be the starter later if they've seen growth from him. Wilson is only on a 1 year deal with Pittsburgh.

Then what? You excercise Fields $26 million 5th year option when he hasn't proven he is a quality NFL starter or let him walk and also lose the assets you traded to get him?

ETA: And now it's coming out that they traded him because he was mad about Russ coming in. Who the frick is Kenny Pickett to think he's above competition? This bum just got benched for Mason Rudolph.

Not running the ball but having an effective passing game to balance out the offense would definitely help the eagles. Hurts turned the ball over alot last year and take away his Superbowl year his stats are underwelming. Pickett given the chance may actually be better who knows because Matt Canada 's misdirection bs sucked.

eta: Remember philly's oline was the best in the league the last few years and still Hurts passing numbers not all that.

Steelers Oline was no where near as good as the Eagles either.

I am not here saying Kenny Pickett is elite or even above average but having a good oline and a different offensive scheme may show some things people saw in college. I still think Jalen Hurts is nowhere near elite or above average either.

Geez.

Steelers cut bait on him way too early.

Not really happy RN.

ETA:The majority of Steelers fans got what they wanted. Now we're gonna see if it comes back to bite them.

Fields is garbage and will always be garbage.

There is a reason that no team has traded for him yet.

If this is true than I'm glad he's gone. We don't need any divas in the locker room.
