Have to say I have been happy to see the perennial powers playing each other. The Catholic-Parkview game got things started although at this point it looks like PBS may be a little down.

Last weeks game between Zachary-Catholic pitted two of the reining champs of high school football at the highest levels in Louisiana. The game lived up to its hype and was won by Catholic on a two point conversion at the very end of the game.

This weeks game with ULab-Catholic should be good. Watching ULab play Southern Lab last week, I am not sure anyone will beat ULab this year.

So if you don't have anything else to do Friday night (or even if you do) go out and support the high schools.

I grew up in North LA. Moved out of state but regularly kept up with scores from teams in LA by using Ken Ramsey's site. I tried to use it this year and it appears to be defunct. Any similar sites you could recommend for an out of state fan who likes to keep up with all the scores? I know the papers will have them...not keen on Max-Preps; other suggestions are welcome.

Alot of teams can say they are a state power. 36 teams played in state semi-finals games last year.

Does WWL still do the scoreboard on Friday night, now that Deke has been excommunicated?

Zachary, Parkview, Catholic, University, Scottlandville, Southern Lab. That's a good amount for the population.

True, but when you look at BR public schools within the city limits, it's a train wreck. Belaire, Tara, Broadmoor, Glen Oaks, McKinley, and Capitol are all beyond atrocious. Woodlawn is hit or miss, at best.

Private schools. The schools I listed are the public schools in BR proper.
