Blues played not to lose.
Easy to say in an OT game, but yeah.

5-0 DONUTS!!!!
Sharks are completely flustered right now. Hopefully, VGK can finish carving them up and serve up some sushi on Thursday night.
ETA: This is a sign of how bad it's been for Jones and San Jose...

Congrats Columbus, your team played well, played with great effort, and took total advantage their opportunities. Kudos Blue Jackets....
Disappointing way to end such a great regular season (Lightning first President cup) but that success might of helped create a bad situation. The Lightning played loose Hockey for way to long at season end and this might of hurt them somewhat. When pressure finally showed up, the Lightning folded like Superman on Laundry day. This Lightning team was done after the way game 1 went down, and by the time the Lightning started playing with the needed effort to compete, it was to late. They didn't handled the adversity very well but this Lightning core has never had an early playoff exit when expected to do something within playoffs. So we'll see how they handled this new experience. If this series doesn't get under-their-skin and give them the eye-of-the-tiger will that won't be denied, nothing will. This group has to get back that attitude won't be denied attitude that has carried them beforehand. They used to have a chip on their shoulders during those 2015/2016 playoff runs, but that's turned into frustration, over thinking it, and tight play when the pressure gets higher. The problem, I'm not so sure they'll ever achieve this needed attitude under Cooper's...... "Just wasn't our time, fate dealt us a bad hand, and maybe next time things will go our way if we just believe it will" culture that's been created. Their mindsets have to change and that mental block that's set has to go. There's no need to blow this team up, and that would be quite stupid to tell ya the truth. the Lightning's core was way ahead of schedule during those deep playoff runs in 2015/1016 indeed. These players deserve another chance to correct things after failing as favorites this time around.
Good luck the rest of the way Columbus
Enjoy the ride

The voodoo hex Vegas has over San Jose in that arena is something else. If Vegas makes the SCF again...they weren’t all that impressive to me in last years Finals. Granted they probably have the best pickup of the trade deadline so far, but I just don’t see it.

Caps best path to the SCF is to have Boston knock out Toronto and then Columbus. Columbus will absolutely work Toronto. They wouldn’t have to change their gameplan up much at all.
I think the Caps will get past the Canes and then they will take out the Isles and Boston if they see them. Barclays is a morgue compared to the coliseum so the Isles shouldn’t have that same home ice crowd in the second round. If Columbus gets to the ECF and we see them, I don’t see us overcoming the momentum that team will have.

As a Blues fan for nearly 50 years, you become numb to this.
I'll never see a Stanley Cup in my lifetime, and I'm at peace with it.

Last night hurt. Hopefully we can continue the trend of the road teams winning in Game 5.

That is the worst choke I have ever seen, and I'm a Caps fan. At least the Caps had the decency to lose in 7 to a goalie playing out of his friggin' mind. The Bolts lost in 4 and got flat beat. I'm really regretting not pulling the trigger on picking the upset. There's just something wrong there.
And as a Caps fan, I am a little irritated by how little crap Stamkos is taking compared to how much was heaped on Ovi. And Ovi actually scored in the playoffs a lot. They weren't losing because of him. Stamkos no-showed until Game 4.
The Penguins losing was just the icing on a delicious cake. Thanks for that, y'all. I didn't know I needed that, but I did.

This Lightning team was done after the way game 1 went down,
yeah no shite. i said that ages ago. they quit. but they did not choke away the series like the caps have done so many times. they never had the lead in the series so there was nothing to choke on unless we are talking game 1. LOL. they just failed to show up. worst bed wetting and shitting by a presidents cup team EVER! fricking disgraceful. You live in gumpistan? if you lived in tanpa you shoulda went and hung cooper from the gallows. then fed his body to sharks in the bay.
what a fn joke of a playoffs
great regular season and shite all over the ice in playoffs

They've played better on the road than at Scottrade/Enterprise over the past 3-4 years, but......this is April and they'll invent a new way to cock it up.

It would take more production from a line other than Stastny / Stone / Pacioretty before I started to let myself buy into a return trip to the SCFs. Right now, I'm just hoping that VGK take care of business and close things out tomorrow night. These playoffs have already shown that nothing can be taken for granted. That said, SJ has looked like Odell Beckham Jr. did in that game where Josh Norman got completely inside his head and made him lose it. They were in complete meltdown mode in the 3rd period last night. Kane may have bought himself a Game 5 suspension with his ignorance.
Last year, the Caps were the only team that won multiple postseason games at T-Mobile...but they were also exceptional away from home during last season's playoffs. One of the most fascinating stats from last year's playoffs were that the Caps and VGK won 7 series between them...and all 7 were clinched on the road. If the Caps take care of business against the Bunch of Jerks tomorrow night, things are setting up nicely for them, given how the other series have gone. I'm hoping that they eliminate Carolina. Them going against the Eggman would be a fun series.

The only real conclusion to take from this? God is punishing Lightning fans for the sin of trying to put ice in Florida. There is simply no other explanation for it, folks

Hoping the weather in Dallas tonight doesn’t negatively effect the game atmosphere. Gonna need the AAC to be packed and loud.

It just goes to show you that the Presidents Trophy means nothing. The 1999-2000 Blues won it with a loaded team of hall of famers and all stars yet lost to the 8th seeded Sharks in the first round. Owen Nolan to Roman Turek from center ice.....JC

What are you even talking about? Leafs get past the Bruins and y’all are fricked. Your comments suggest you’re already fricked. Reminds me of every Cap fan that just couldn’t figure out how the Caps could lose a game in the Playoffs. Then they get put out because Ovie and Co. were disinterested.
