The Caps were lost in front of their own net. That was some sloppy shite there in OT. Lotta puck watching by their blueliners there.

Yes, this is another Caps choke. The Pens own them. From Orpik getting suspended three games to Ovechkin completing whiffing and not being able to control the puck tonight, it's all there. Typical Caps. Such a mentally weak team. I don't even think the Caps showed up in OT.

This was the best Caps team of all time and they still can't get past the second round. The regular seasons are completely meaningless for them at this point. I'll tune in next year once the playoffs start to hope that it's finally the year they make it past the second round, but odds are, it won't be. One day, one day.

It was always confusing to have an Western team in the Eastern time zone though

Then have in baseball 2 central time zone teams in East and a Eastern Time zone team in west

I don't think Detroit fans miss it

Pens were the better team this series. Washington hung tough and looked legit, but the Pens had a much deeper team. Actually, the Pens are very deep! Plus, the Caps had to take bigger advantage of those 5-3 PP's in the 3rd. Now two more game 7's to finish off the 2nd round.

Go Lightning !!!!

I don't know. Hard to pull a hot goalie during a playoff run. How long has it been for Fluery, Mid-March? Can always go to him but it's hard to start him then go back to Murray.

Niskanen got caught watching the puck on that goal. Clear the crease and they don't score their, way they were playing it was coming for the Pens though.

The fact Washington has Orpik under contract for 3 more years at 5.5M is just painful

Outside having Toronto they gave up some pretty good geographic rivals to leave the West. I have some close friends that are wings fans and they dont like it. They are glad to not be in the central right now though but are not happy with the move overall.

St Louis fans are hoping that Vegas gets the expansion nod and they take Bouwmeester and his albatross of a contract.

I would say to give the Predators an equal amount of rest that everybody else got in between rounds one and two, but the real reason is to not go up against the Golden state warriors game

Sharks and Warriors played around the same time last night though.

The Penguins may win a cup and largely off of trades from a GM most people didn't care much for.

All 3 PIT goal scorers: Kessel, Hagelin & Bonino picked up in trades by Jim Rutherford over the last 10 months. 7 points combined tonight

Best line in hockey going on 3 months now.

Getting Hagelin for Perron, and Daley for Scuderi (who was sent down to the AHL and then traded again lol)...man.

I watched the CBC broadcast. I like Jim Hughson much better. Plus Don Cherry and Ron McLean on the intermission report.

Bonino was underrated as hell while he was in Anaheim. Did it all. Can play up and down the lines in various roles.

Couldn't quite make out what Murray said to Holtby in the handshake line, sounded like "pleasure to play against you I model my game around yours, youre one of my idols".

ETA: Found it
quote:

Murray to Holtby "I love watching you play. You're one of my idols"

Man I wish Stamkos was healthy, Pens-Bolts is going to be some insanely fast hockey. Which is the best hockey. Speed kills. I cannot say enough how glad I am that the game is turning back towards speed and skill versus 3rd and 4th lines filled with slow skating goons just out there to hit and the best Dmen are offensively gifted phenomenal skaters like Karlsson and Letang. Love it. This SHOULD be a massive offensive era, should have been for years now. Not a damn 3gpg League.
