Brooks Orpik would have cleared that into the corner.
I can't believe the Pens outhit a team, not our game style at all, all speed and counter attack with a full attack forecheck, absorb hits and get the puck up as fast as possible. Sullivan clearly changed the strategy without Letang for more physicality, Pens had 29, 21, and 25 hits in the previous 3, outhit the Caps 47-41 tonight.

Aniversary of 2000 Flyers/Penguins 5OT playoff game I stayed up to 3:00 to watch. Think I even made it to class that morning. What a memorable game.

I'm sick of this shite, this franchise will bottle it until the end of time.

Darn it, you Caps fans are right because this Washington franchise is cursed. It's past time for trying voodoo, black-magic, or something. I really thought Washington would get it done this year, so I went back to look at the successful regular season Washington had, for some answers to why not. For some reason Washignotn lost steam as the seasons end drew closer and it seems to have carried over into the playoffs. I don't follow other NHL clubs like I do with the Lightning. So I'm not sure what took place, but something happened since Feb26th.
What happen to Washington after Feb 26?
Injuries, trades, or taking the foot off the peddle?
Feb 26, 2016
45-11-4
Seasons end
56-18-8
The Caps were 11-7-4 after Feb 26th.
Went from a 75% club to 50% winning club.
Go Lightning !!!!

0 adjustments that work. The guy is a clown. He's just now adjusting lines in the 4th game of the series? The second line had been invisible all playoffs up until this game. Double shifting Ovie and Backstrom isn't rocket science, it's desperation. Shooting high is the weakness of many a goalie. They still don't park in front of the net and screen. They pepper shots and spray.
He had to replace Schmidt because Schmidt looked absolutely lost.
He also plays his dmen very aggressively against a skilled and fast Pitt team which is idiotic. It's led constantly to odd man rushes. He didn't adjust that until the third period yesterday.
Oh can we talk about the power play? You know, the one that has dried up since Game 3 of the first round since teams figured out to pressure Backstrom. Still no adjustments made there.
I'm starting to see why his teams have never made it past the second round. He's actually the perfect coach for the Caps when you think about it.

In the past three games, the Caps have had more time of possession, more shot attempts, more shots on goal, more scoring chances, and more high danger chances than the Pens in each and every game. I mean, how many adjustments can the guy make? The problem is, as with every playoff, the team can't shoot. Every underlying metric is going the Caps way, yet they can't put the puck in the net.
They aren't losing due to tactics. They are losing because they are shooting, as a team, under 5% at evens. That won't cut it.

Two fantastic matchups tonight. Can the Stars pull their heads out of their arse without Seguin? Can they do it with Lehtonen? Will anyone from the stars try to kiss Ryan Reaves tonight?
Will the Preds continue with the lineup changes that seemed to work really well, and scratch Ribs again? Will Good Pekka Rinne show up again?
Lots of questions to be answered tonight. For the Preds, I hope they roll with the same lineup they did in Game 3. Question will be whether or not Smith / Salomaki are ready to go. Either one would be a huge loss. If they aren't ready to go, do you bring back Ribs, or do you let one of the younger guys like Fiala come in?
May need two TVs tonight.....

Looks like Ovi, Kuz, and Orlov will be playing for Russia at the World Championships

I would think they would wait to play for the World Cup, since it is a bigger tournament. I would not let them play in the IIHF, if I was Washington.

I'm fine with benching Ribero. He's been a non factor in the playoffs and for much of the regular season.
The biggest difference to me in game 3 from 1-2 was that we actually score. Jones played out of his mind in the first 2 games and was the reason SJ took them.

I don't, they should, they have a huge advantage over Stars, which is my Dallas media picked Blues.
But as long as part of the boy band is still playing, i don't trust them as far as i could throw them.
been a fan for 38 years, i've seen this before. i've been waiting on sidelines, no reason to get pumped or excited, i've seen this play before.

I'll be in the thread tonight. Not too confident lol.
Missed the last one trying to get my dick wet. Probably would have had more fun getting shite talked to me in here tbh.
