the entire metro area is going nuts
All the bars in the suburbs are packed. They're showing it outside all over on big screens.
Helps that it's an absolute gorgeous day

that was a crazy bounce from niskanen, but the amount of skill required to control the puck and elevate a shot in .2 seconds to beat MAF is high

I'm watching with a few people and I said after Smith hit the side of the net and then Neal missed that open goal that Vegas would lose the game and, basically, the series. Everyone sort of scoffed at the idea and contended that Vegas would be alright. Then Caps score 3 in the final 10 minutes. You just can't miss goals like that in big games against good goaltenders, especially when you have had trouble scoring the last two games. Its just one play but it casts a pall over the rest of the proceedings until you can break through, which they still haven't.
Seems to me that Vegas has lost their touch a bit in this series, missing some chances that they capitalized on previously. It appears that they are finally starting to feel the pressure. Terrible time for that to happen. Credit is definitely due to the Caps though, they are playing great from Holtby to the defense to the forwards, obviously. Top two lines have played terrific, in addition to Smith-Pelly and Burakovsky going back to game 7 against the Lightning. Well-deserved cup coming for the Caps and Ovechkin.
