That crowd reminds me of the Scelfo era…… my poor liver.

Every time I see a video of high school football in New Orleans I am shocked by how few people are in the stands

When you have a stadium capacity like the Superdome it can make the crowds look scarce. Plus some of these schools only have a few thousand people in their towns.

Shaw found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Most games aren’t in the Superdome

I’ve been to high school games, regular season, with 30,000 fans. Shaw vs st Aug 1978

National social media pages have picked up this crazy ending story

It's on sportscenter, cbs, and Bleacher report Instagram.

This is the best breakdown I’ve found. It includes every play, from the St. Charles TD through their game winning kick.

Number 50 is going to look back on this mistake for the rest of his life. Damn!
SO much more painful to watch #50 do that now after having a night to digest that.

OUCH!!!

I don't like either team, but that's a game Shaw should have won.

I just saw this on Twitter. St Charles was losing because their kicker missed an XP.

2nd down: ball is snapped from the <46 and the QB kneels at the >49
15 yard penalty so now at the >34
4th down: punt is snapped from the >24

So apparently on 3rd down after the penalty the QB took a knee 10 yards back in the shotgun.

Im telling you, that side judge next to that teams bench, is responsible for that communication from the head referee

If the coach wants to know the TO situation he should have asked the official.

It's NOT the responsibility of the SJ to tell the coach that. The coach needs to confirm it with the official, not the other way around.

ETA: Misread your post regarding, not burning the timeout. I'll agree that the SJ should have confirmed the TO was still in his pocket.

At least Shaw just won a state title last year. But yeah that's as brutal as the Seahawks choking away going back to back.

Could be refs fault, who's job it is to tell the coach the timeout was returned to the other team.
if you watch the last video posted, they announced it over the PA that they got their timeout back.

It is an expressed and noted job of the official to get verbal communication to the head coach...ANY time a timeout situation is adjusted. No smoke signals, hand signals, PA announced, etc

That being said, I dont have any k iwledge on if he was informed properly or not. But CLEARLY,, he was confused on the timeout situation. That being said, hes a moron for the play calling and execution
