Something with 3 pointers in NBA. They are too easy for the modern player.

Like make a 4 point or larger line like MTV Rock and Jock basketball from the 90s.

The solution is to change the scoring denominations to 4s and 3s. It’s basic math that is hurting basketball.

A safety in football should be worth four points.

Also, I’d be ok with just removing all forms of kicking from football but that’s more personal taste.

They are still stupid long just with more commercials now and less football.

The fact the NFL allows ties is straight up Un-American. I don’t care how long it takes. There should always be a winner and a loser in American Football.

Yes in the Super Bowl

In the regular season ties are fine. They’re not a win or a loss

In the playoffs ties are fine. Have the home team advance to the next round whenever that happens. That way both teams beforehand know what they need to do

That leaves one game a year where overtime is a possibility. At that point do it like college overtime which is fairer to both teams than pro overtime. If an overtime game happens it’ll be so rare we’ll think it’s automatically awesome

I'd like to see CFB go to 2 feet in for a catch like the NFL.

Maybe it is.

Maybe it isn’t.

But that rule is fine and I have no problem explaining why.

But I’d love to hear your rationale just so it can be refuted.

You like sitting and watching a game and commercials for 3 hours to see a game end in a tie?

Why don’t you rationalize it first

Well since my rudeness seems to have triggered you, I offer my apologies.

Could we go back to the point of the thread instead of your whining?

Well, it’s pretty simple actually.

A football field has four distinct areas.

1. The playing field - from goal-line to goal-line
2. The visiting team's end zone - this is the magical place where the home team must advance the ball to get a touchdown
3. The home team's end zone - this is the magical place where the visiting team must advance the ball to get a touchdown
4. Out of bounds

Note that two of these are different than the others - they are magical.

Magical places have special rules. It's pretty simple - fumble the ball out of bounds, you've gone from one non-magical place to another. Fumble the ball from the playing field into your opponent's end zone and there are consequences.

Remember, in football the defense is defending their end zone. That is their part of the field - the offense has no claim to it. So if they lose possession into the end zone, there should be a penalty.
