What are some of the things that you miss about sports from when you were younger?
I'll start with this!

I loved taking infield, we had instructional league instead of tee ball. Much better IMO.

pro stars cartoon
the NBA on NBC/NBA inside stuff
NFL Primetime(the old format where they just reviewed games)
"tryouts" for baseball where you were placed in one league or the other
season ending pool parties (although I was usually mad that the coach's shitty kids made the all star team over me)

This, except he would hit to me while I fielded. Probably explains why I was an amazing fielder and a terrible hitter.

I liked when they showed the plays of the week, Mel Allen would go, "Slick move Garth Iorg!"

When we played really late in the summer, we would have an ice chest in the dug out with rags, ice and Florida Water in it.
This stuff got so cold and smelled really good.

Florida Water
I played golf at Kelly Plantation a few years ago. At the first tee, they had towels in cold water. My dad asked the marshall if it was Florida Water. They said "well we're in Florida". He had no clue what my dad was talking about.

Had no idea it was cologne until I was 14 or 15. I just thought it was a cooling product.

similar to this: we would play drops. who ever dropped 3 or 5 passes\baseballs first, loses.
that and having something to get you through the day... no matter how much all those math problems and english classes sucked, you knew you had a game that night and were pumped.
