If case numbers continue to go up

“Gov. Henry McMaster warned Wednesday that he will not allow high school and college football games to be played in South Carolina this fall if COVID-19 infections keep climbing.”

If these numbers continue to rise and the danger persists. I can't do it," McMaster said during a news conference. "I won't do it."

He seems to overestimate the amount of power he actually has in that state

Damn, wouldn’t expect that from a republican governor. I see college football starting late. Hopefully they play.

This is a good thing for Clemson. Playing South Carolina will hurt their strength of schedule.

He has one of those old school SC accents that sounds like he just walked off a plantation in the 19th century.

I said yesterday that college football isn't going to happen. You're trying to get hundreds of non-cohesive entities controlled by politicians to come together and field a schedule. It's all just going to be a disjointed mess.

The unemployment gravy is what is keeping people from actually being pissed off about this nonsense. If local and state politicians had to be accountable for shutdowns and restrictions, they’d tread a lot more carefully.

Well aren't they both public land grant Unis?

I mean, I don't know how much the State gives them but they presumably could threaten to withhold funds.

It's the same thing happening with the UC system. UCLA and Cal will probably have to obey that awful governor but Stanford and USC can tell him to go frick himself.
