The amount of people downplaying this is insane.
They had an elaborate plan to fly all over the country to steal signals.
If its not a big deal, why did UM spend so much money, time and effort to steal the signals?
Add in those saying, “Bama cheats all the time and we manage to deal with it” and you have a special level of stupid.
First, every person in this thread saying that would be screaming for Bama to get the death penalty if they were caught doing what Michigan did. There would be no one saying it’s no big deal. Lack of Institutional Control would be chanted so loudly that it would get its own emoticon.
Second, Michigan broken the rule and they did it blatantly. There’s video of staffers on opponents’ sideline. It cannot be ignored. An example has to be made and there’s not a single fan here who wouldn’t demand exactly that if their conference opponent was caught doing the same thing.

This is really the first time, because it’s you and a guy I respect — so I’m very cautious," Meyer said this week on his podcast, "Urban's Take with Tim May." "I’ve been asked over 100 times to comment on it and I just won’t. But I am going to, I’ll tell you my thoughts: First of all I’m very skeptical of reporters' reporting. My experience is they’re wrong most of the time. And that’s not a shot at the media, that’s reality. People say things that they’re reporting that’s just not true. So I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt saying, first of all it’s hard for me to believe that is true.” “I also heard people say that ‘Well, everyone does that.’ And Tim, no one does that," Meyer continued. "I’ve never heard of that in 40 years of being around the game. There’s a very clear and that rule, some will say it’s not that important. Once again, everybody is entitled to their opinion. If they know your signals, it is that important. You’re changing the game. That’s very egregious if that’s what happened. I’m not saying it did, because I’m still skeptical it did."
I think my biggest issue with Urban’s quote is how much confidence he seems to have in the play call code not being easily broken. This is a type of system that bloggers built an app to decode (baseball not football, but much less call sets so it’s a wash) 5 years ago. It’s a system that right now with basic technology I could design something that could do real time analysis of signals in game. And yet, he seems so surprised that it is even plausible.
This is simple code breaking and pattern matching techniques that high school kids are now being exposed to. Doing this is a simple exercise if, and this is the major if, you have the video beforehand. If you do, it’s a cakewalk to do. If you don’t, you are building your pattern set every play and at some point, in game in real time, you could crack the code as well….
The real scary part in all of this is the technology has moved so far past the current system, if you allow pre recorded signals, and yet many in the coaching community fail to grasp that technology has left them behind.

the way bama cheats (well used to cheat) is the same way every program with a top 25 recruiting class cheated.

If you don't know anything about the Big Ten just say you don't know.

Hey Michigan fans:
When you’re the ONLY people defending this shite……. You should realize that y’all fricked up and justice needs to be served
Just man up, and admit it

Yeah, reading the first page of this thread, I was pretty shocked to see the temperature of the room. This is a big deal and Michigan needs to pay the price for this crap.
Cheating is cheating

I didn't get that what the Astros did was some huge crime; nor what Michigan is doing is some huge crime. Teams have been stealing signs since forever.
But if they want to ban Michigan, fine; the world will go on without them (or any team) and they'll get over it.

What is king in your athletic conference?

I have degrees from three Big Ten schools. Ohio State and Penn State led the push to play in 2020. Northwestern...well, no comment.

More quotes coming out now;
From the Athletic
quote:
“Everybody’s upset,” that coach told The Athletic. “Why is nothing being done? We want to know, what else do you need to know to take action? We (the Big Ten head coaches) want something done now. I don’t think people understand the advantage that what they’re (allegedly) doing gives you. People think, ‘OK, now that everybody knows, we all can just move on.’ Like, ‘now, it’s fair.’ Well, no, it isn’t. Not at all. This changes the way you operate. A lot of teams have been doing things a certain way for years. Now, it’s forcing you to teach your players a whole new way to communicate just for them. People think that this is just advanced scouting. This was damn near espionage.”
quote:
“They (Michigan) have been manipulating the game and cheating the game for two-and-a-half years. To know exactly what the other team is doing, Michigan might as well have been playing with 15 guys on the field,” he said. “What’s the message the Big Ten is sending now by doing nothing? Win now, pay later? We might as well just send people to (scout) their practices and their games. It doesn’t encourage anybody to follow the rules. It’s just telling them to do the opposite and say, f— it.”

I know that football is king regardless of your trolling on here. Otherwise the holier than thou Big 10 would've already acted on Michigan.

Those scumbags invented "holier than thou." They won't catch anything until the conference is absolutely positive they have them.
But it's fricking laughable to pretend they won't go after a football program after the last decade or so.

no they won't
technically, you're correct in that they won't have a say, because it won't come down to that, at least publicly. but if push came to shove, then yes, Fox would intervene
they paid big money to acquire the rights to broadcast Big 10 games. the first game they choose every year is UM/OSU. they're not gonna allow that game to be canceled over allegations and a bunch of OSU fellating writers like Thamel and Dellenger
the NCAA has NOT given UM an NOA (notice of allegations). if they do present an NOA, UM has 90 days to respond. until then, everything reported is allegations/hearsay/speculation, and everyone who wants any punishment on UM can get fukked
waiting for displacedbuckeye and kosmocramer to respond with their Michael Jordan stop it gif, even though this is my first post on this thread, and they've posted dozens of times...
