From a career standpoint, it was smart. He got to go to USC(something he apparently always wanted to do eventhough they were facing NCAA sanctions) and get out of the SEC before things got too rough.

you really seem to have an obsession with lane kiffin bro. Whenever a thread about him is started, there's rocket reminding us how much he hates him and how much he sucks.
He may have sucked in the SEC, he may have turned out great, who the hell knows but to say he ran from there is just dumb. USC was always his dream job, any one of us would have done the same thing he did.

I've been saying this for year. He made some idiotic decisions, but he's a good coach.

To compare Kiffin's leaving UT to CLM leaving Okie State shows either your ignorance or complete bias. Kiffin stayed one season after raising hell & making himself & UT look like fools, had to sneak out of the athletic dept at nite to avoid the "riots" happening round campus & never tried to tell his former players goodbye. CLM 's departure was not even close to this travesty. Coach Al Davis mite have been a lot of things, but when he called Kiffin a liar he knew what he was talking bout.

REds, Rocket's schtick is old and tiring. He disdain for all things USC and LFK is obvious in his thinly veiled comments.
