I really hate it for Tech. I went to games as a kid and have family ties to the school.

Tech's in a terrible situation right now--stuck in the worst conference in football, their good players getting cherrypicked by larger programs, small amount of NIL $ compared to other schools, etc. I know a lot of Tech alums and I see them following LSU and sporting LSU gear when they have no connection to that program and didn't care about LSU pre-Saban. Many of them never mention Tech. It has to be an incredibly frustrating and difficult situation for all involved, but you don't burn bridges with the one of the few media sources that has any interest in covering you.

Well it’s different levels of college football whether or not Tech people see it that way

I understand that--there are lots of fans of big state schools that don't have connections there, but these guys hardly mention Tech at all. It's all-LSU all the time.

I used to get incredibly frustrated by it, but honestly these days I don’t care. I mean I still think it’s goofy for a guy making a living off a Tech degree slobbing the knob of a different school, but these days, you do you homie. No hate here anymore. I just wish athletically we could give our alumni something to be proud of and maybe that would change somewhat.

It’s hard to watch your team when they suck, but I do. It’s harder to watch when the coach shows his arse.

What sane person would even think of pulling such a stunt? The dude sucks at coaching, sucks at calling plays, and apparently sucks at life. I really feel for his children having such a low-character person as a father to learn from.

With Davison and Malone this shouldn't happen.

I will give Cumbie one of those games, just for concern of Hank’s shoulder.

But he still started Turner 2 games more than he should have.

Isn't he one of the old Mike Leach Air raid guys? A lot of Leah's old staff didn't really play much football after HS.

I think he's also the son of a former coach.

Cumbie's big moment as a player was winning a bowl game against Aaron Rodgers

Sounds like basically the same thing Coach K did at Duke back in 1990

I don’t blame anyone, especially these days. When you decide to be a Louisiana Tech fan or basically any G5 , you are signing up for way more losing than winning. But hey, it’s our school and we love ‘em. We were here before Cumbie and most of us will be here after.

This problem has been festering for decades. It starts at the top. Political AD hires, the purposefully decay of the game day and tailgating experience. As an alum many of us have written letters, suggestions on how to improve some things that would have cost little to no money and it’s fallen on deaf ears. Hell professionally, an alum reached out to Tech to have them assist on a work related project along with UL. The alum basically begged Tech to parti And they had no desire. UL jumped at the opportunity for their students. Sad.

Looks like a TV evangelist.

Does Tech have a hand sign, or did he forget he's no longer a Big XII coach?

What an absolute chode. LTU fans hope this story catches fire and his contract has some sort of "acts bringing embarrassment upon the university" clause.

This probably sounds like some keyboard warrior shite, but no way in hell a grown arse man should take that shite. But I have also been fired seven times, so what the hell do I know.

He's an air raid guy that doesn't run the air raid. We literally hired him for a fast-pace, passing attack. We got an offense so inept no one has a clue what it is. He runs the ball stubbornly with our 6th string rb and an OL that can't block.

Watching CUSANight football last month I realized one could easily call when he would run surprise runs. Also a lot of presnap cues as to what your offense is going to run. By the third quarter could call the play 90% of the time. Truly Jr high level offensive eptitude.

A friend's father-in-law was a regular tailgater for years and Tech (at least 20-30 years ago) did not allow alcohol at tailgates. Is this still the rule? They should be bending over backwards to make tailgates more fun to get more people there. They should also be selling beer at games if they aren't already. They need to have a fun, wild-assed atmosphere to give people a reason to show up.
