From almost knocking of Tom Brady and advancing to the super bowl to 4-8 and benching their QB. What gives?

Fournette injury and OL injury. I reckon they are on their 4th string LT and 2nd RT.

You answered your question. QB. They caught lightening in a bottle last year with their entire D remaining healthy the entire year and relatively few injuries across the board. That has not happened before and likely never will again. They kept hanging on to the notion B.B. could bring them back. No way. He’s lucky the other players stayed healthy last year or he would have been looking for a job a lot sooner.

Injuries. Especially on the O-line. And Blake Bortles was lot better last year, and our defense just hasn’t been carrying the offense in the same way as last year. Our organization is probably regretting that Bortles contract extension.
ETA: another huge reason is the schedule. We had a cupcake schedule for the nfl last year.

If I am honest, I do not know. Had I guessed before your message, and with that name, I would have guessed he was the red headed QB that started four years at USC, but never ate a McDonald’s BigMac. Apparently that is not the correct answer.

Defense is just as good, maybe better. They just didn’t have a single significant injury all year. Huge drop off between starters and backups on D in the NFL. They have had regular injuries this year and been exposed for what they are. Need a QB and some help on O to be relevant after the GOAT leaves NE next year.

2. AFC South was REALLY arse last year. No Luck. No Watson.
3. Buffalo might have been the worst Wild Card ever.
4. Steelers were a hot mess at the end of the year.
5. Defense overachieved
6. Lost best offensive threats (Fournette, Robinson, Lee). I know Robinson didn’t play last year.

Defense sucks this year, can’t run the ball to mask Bortles
