HE put them on probation?
That's funny. Because the NCAA feels differently.
You're welcome to your opinion of who did what. But it doesn't matter because the only opinion that matters says he didn't do shite.
And I'm not saying he didn't do shite, just that the only opinion that matters says he didn't.

Yes, he did. Calipari used the standard "I had no idea what on earth what was happening" defense. Which worked twice and is why he keeps getting promoted to better jobs. But he's been the coach at two major schools, and both wre put on major probation as Cal left for a better gig.
Gee, he probably has no idea what's going on off the court at Kentucky right now. It's his program, he's responsible. Especially when there is now an established pattern of corruption.
but it's always someone else's fault. Becuase Calipari is all about not having to take responsibility. And his team of enablers (that would be you) will happily look the other way so long as the wins come and before the NCAA shows up.

So the NCAA just didn't feel like implicating him?
Makes total sense.

By the way, LSU fans probably shouldn't throw stones about NCAA violations.

Not really. This thread happens twice a week. It's nothing new.

Busey, you want to hold Roy's cock in your mouth you can't stand it. Every question about Call being dirty, you try and deflect towards Roy. Roy didn't have two final four appearances vacated ... that's a damn fact. Deal with it.

I wish we could go back in time and see what the Kentucky fans were saying about Calipari when he was at Memphis. I'm sure they thought he was completely clean.

I hope something comes out eventually and puts Kentucky in the ground.

We don't have to, because I'll be a nice guy and tell you: They didn't like him.
Is that what you wanted to hear?

UK sold their soul to the devil when they hired him. Calipari didnt know about Camby and didnt know about Rose. ha ha ha ha ha ha

And, for the record, why does no one say this about UNC?
FWIW, LSU fans mostly say "frick Roy Williams" because of his participation in the whole Lester Earl bullshite.
I definitely want RW to be fricked by the long dick of the NCAA, no doubt.

Do LSU fans do anything but bitch and moan?
Posted on 4/3/12 at 11:24 am to Culley24
Maybe if UT would sell their soul to the devil they can be relevant in something again.

Nothing like the patented "we're not corrupt because someone else is just as bad" defense. And for the record, we are waiting for UNC to get busted, too.
Just wait. They'll bring up Akiem Hicks and Dale Brown and think it has something to do with Cal's past transgressions. Deflect, deflect, deflect.

Yeah, because we recruited a guy improperly, never let him play a down, fired the coach who recruited him, and self-reported the violations and imposed penalties ourselves, actually getting plaudits from the NCAA Infractions Committee for our compliance department's activities.
Same friggin' thing as passing the buck at every stop. This isn't a kentucky thing (though UK does have a long proud history of running afoul of the NCAA -- Eddie Sutton ring any bells?), it's a Calipari thing. I don't care one way or the other about UK basketball, but the fact Cal keeps coaching at places that then magically get put on probation through absolutely no fault of his own in any way, shape, or form, and it would be crazy to suggest so and then parlays it into a BETTER gig is frankly disgusting.
He's a parasite. I wouldn't want him within 100 miles of my school if I were an AD. I think he's perhaps the most corrupt coach in the past 20 years (though yeah, Calhoun and Williams could give him a run). Sure, he wins. But at what cost? At what point is the winning not worth it? Especially when it's likely to get scrubbed from the official record book (like two of his three previous trips to the Final Four).
I find the man repulsive.

You mean UMASS where Marcus Camby took money from an agent? Yeah...I'm sure Calipari wanted him dealing with an agent after he already signed with UMASS. That makes sense. Now, the NCAA found it to be an isolated incident that neither Calipari, the other coaches, nor one other player knew about. I'm sure they are wrong and you have the real details to tell me how Calipari (not Camby) cheated there.
Or, are you talking about Derrick Rose and the SAT issue? You know...the one where a high school player may or may not have taken a high school test before he ever got into college--the same test and player that was cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse before he ever stepped foot on a college campus--same high school had 3 players' tests invalidated that year. I'm sure Calipari orchestrated the whole thing, though, right?
(queue the "where there's smoke there's fire" rebuttal since that's all you have)

I don't disagree with any of your points, but what about this guy
And as for the Rose SAT, it has Cal's paws all over it. A guy with no ties to Detroit ends up taking the SAT in the hometown of Cal's biggest runner and miraculously ends up qualifying after failing to reach the minimum three times in Chicago.
Cal, like every other good coach in D-1 is a micro-manager. He knows what everyone is doing, as does Izzo, Pitino, K, Calhoun, Roy, Saban, Les, Spurrier, and anyone else who is worth a shite in college sports. "I didn't know" might be a plausible excuse for an 85-year old figure head like Bobby Bowden (notice I am going nowhere near Paterno) or a dumbass like Sidney Lowe but not for an intelligent and organized man like Calipari.
I do agree with the UK fans about the Camby issue though, at least based on the publicly available info since that agent doesn't appear to have any ties to Calipari or anyone else in the UMass program. I don't see what Cal would have gotten out of it, and in that sense, it's different than the UConn stuff from a couple of years ago.
