dirty at UMASS

dirty at Memphis

squeaky clean at Kentucky

anyone else just sitting back patiently waiting for the potential fallout, or is UK to big of a program to be taken down?

Journalists have been working around the clock to bring us down since he was hired. Nothing so far.

And, for the record, why does no one say this about UNC?

Roy Williams was caught red handed and actually implicated by the NCAA as having knowledge of his players being paid thousands of dollars. Why aren't people waiting for UNC to be busted?

what I don't get is how the coaches in these situations basically get a slap on the wrist while the program suffers for many years.

Case in point, USC. Carroll was the guy there when all that shite went down. He leaves for a bigger paycheck in the NFL and the program gets put on bowl suspension and loses some scholarships. There really needs to be stiffer penalties for coaches.

Obviously. But you NEVER hear people talk about that. Roy has actually been implicated by the NCAA. Cal hasn't.

Slight hijack, but how do all the one-and-doners at Kentucky not negatively affect the graduation rate? It seems like at LSU, every time we get one they talk about how they hurt the program bc of the grad rate.

Seems like they have 5 new one and done players each year. (slightly jealous)

Roy is a first class POS. But he's such an "aw shucks" good ole boy that people give him a pass. Maybe they think he's too dumb to get away with anything. I don't know.

CBB is so dirty its a waste of time to quibble about who's doing what.

There probably isn't a consistently relevant team that's above board. what's the motivation to be? If you're relying on 1 and done types they don't care if your school ends up on probation because they're leaving. The coaches can just jump if the shite hits the fan. Nobody making recruiting decisions has any motivation to play it straight.

It does but graduation rate doesn't really mean anything.

Because it doesn't have a negative effect if they are in good academic standing upon leaving.

well in this case, cal really didn't do anything wrong. derrick rose may have cheated on the SAT/ACT. marcus camby signed with an agent. neither are cal's doing

Nothing like the patented "we're not corrupt because someone else is just as bad" defense. And for the record, we are waiting for UNC to get busted, too.

What Roy was proven to have done was much worse than anything Cal supposedly did. He PAID players. It doesn't get much worse than that.

Cal didn't supposedly put two programs on probation. That actually happened here in the real world.
