So the combine is over and the new league year starts on March 15th. Reports are already flowing that talks are heating up on the first pick. What do the Bears do??

Scenario 1: Texans give the Bears a decent haul to jump to one and Bears essentially start the new bidding at the 2nd pick.

Scenario 2: Irsay and Ballard send the Bears a haul to go to 4. Bears stay in Anderson/Carter range.

Scenario 3: Raiders, Falcons, or Panthers send the Bears a massive haul of picks to jump to 1

Scenario 4: Bears take Anderson at 1.

Let the games begin.

Trade up to #1 for what?
A street racing defensive lineman?
A tiny QB?
Anthony Richardson?

The top QB on your board. Ensuring your division rival doesn’t get him. Potentially saving your job if your Caserio. And potentially linking up with a Bama guy if your DeMeco Ryans. More reasons than you think for the Texans to trade up and ensure they get their guy.

I don’t think I’d trade up for a QB at #1 this year.

I tentatively like Bryce as the best guy but not enough to bet on it. I’m not selling the farm to get him.

If you’re in the top 7 just get who you like at QB who is still there.

I’m also terrible at this stuff.

Shitty year to have the #1 pick.

Not really. 3 maybe 4 QBs will go in the top 10. I think 3 can go top 5

If i was the Bears GM i would trade the first pick and i would trade the second pick too. Obviously those teams want QB's so they could take the best defender on the board who ever they think that is while simultaneously stacking a ton of picks.

The deal to trade for the second pick doesn't even have to be that great as long as its not complete shite it makes sense to me.

I would make somebody give me a good WR too. Fields needs some help and they don't seem to draft well.

For everyone looking for a week 1 starter, it’s Young, Stroud then everyone else. Being able to leverage the top two picks would be huge, especially if the colts, falcons and panthers play along.

Amazingly stupid. No way in hell should the potential difference between Young and Stroud be worth anything of value to the Texans.

Here is a mock draft simulator with trades allowed

I have been trading down multiple times

To 2

To 4 or 5

To 7

Then taking 2 OT at 7 and 12
Multiple 2nd rounders for 2 WR a TE, and defense
I can grab a G and a C by round 4
Take Defense and a 3rd WR rest of draft

I’m not 100% sure team will ultimately do it, but Bryce Young is the only guy worth trading up for in this draft.

I’m thinking Indy might be the team. They historically trend towards taking cerebral QB’s that are also good people off the field (Manning, Luck). Young doesn’t fit the size mold, but he fits the intangible mold and I believe that Indy’s GM recently publicly compared Young to Brees.

Whatever the scenario, I'm not trusting the guy who traded the #32 overall pick for fricking Chase Claypool to make the right decision

Poles to Peter King:

“No one’s gonna rush me. I know I can get a ’24 one and a ’25 one. You’re telling me for the next two years I’ll have two ones? That’s either four really good players, or if we’re cruising, we can still trade back.”
