So people keep saying CFB is greater than NFL

That's all we hear on here how nobody cares about the NFL, college is King, they don't watch NFL, kneeling, declining ratings, blah blah.
Quick search on this SEC forum shows the Bama UGA National Championship game thread had 1023 posts.
The AFC Championship Game thread alone has 2081 posts.
National Championship averaged 28 million viewers
AFC Championship averaged 53.3 million and NFC was 45.7 million

The two aren't in the same atmosphere. NFL is a better product. CFB is regional because the NFL hasn't had a historical presences in those areas.

People in the southeast (where 99% of this boards posters reside) prefer college football. The rest of the country is more NFL centric. The NFL has been losing viewers for a number of reasons.

To be clear, I don't, either.
But I was never one to watch it much outside of live sports anyways to begin with. Unless they were recapping a big game for one of my teams, I never made time to watch it. And the uber-lefty bent now makes it even easier to choose other channels to watch.
I guess I just never saw the need to crow/lie about not watching it like so many on here do. Not talking about you in particular.
Everything I know about ESPN programming now is from tMSB

This is dumb too. In it's Genesis, yes you may be right, although colleges were playing football decades hefore the NFL existed. Colleges make a ton of money off of football so it's not going away. Were the NFL to fold it's not like all these schools would be like well there's no NFL anymore so I guess we'll just close up shop. They'd keep playing and like a new league would come up for the players to go to.
