Fine... More math... The distance from rim to rim is around 86 feet (˜ 4ft from end line to rim) He starts? running at 6.9 seconds in and catches the ball around 9.3 seconds (˜ 2.4 seconds) Lastly, the real distance. Wall is about 10 feet off the center of the rim. He catches the ball smack in the front of the rim. Using some Pythagorean theorem we can estimate that he traveled 86.58 ft. 43.29 ft/sec ˜ .008 mi/sec ˜ 29.52 MPH Conclusion? John Wall should still compete in the olympics

I didn't say I saw him do it ....I heard an interview where he said he did it.....in the interview he said the trick is to throw the ball high enough to get a 4 second hang time....why is it impossible to run 30 yards in 4 seconds ....

The fact that this discussion is even taking place is hilarious.

The Pythagorean theorem is not used to calculate velocity though. I dont even know the relevance of mentioning it since he clearly knew the distance.
