Is 'being forced to donate money as a player' an option or will that be added next year?

I thought about this a while...and I’m drinking FWIW.

Sooner Schooner may be top 10, but not #1. Howard’s Rock has gained traction because of Clemson’s recent dominance.

#’s 3, 4, and 9 are great. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing two of them.

The turnover chain isn’t a tradition. It was a 1 year thing. I think it was lame, but if the players like it, so be it. But that doesn’t = tradition.

Here are some others worthy of consideration if they haven’t already been mentioned...

Chief Osceola throwing the spear
Ramblin Wreck of Georgia Tech
Iowa waving to the children’s hospital
LSU (I’m biased but the H-style goalposts are unique)

This doesn’t include traditional fight songs (On Wisconsin, The Victor’s March, Notre Dame Victory) or mascots (Uga, Bevo, Mike).

shite...Oregon uniforms and Boise turf is a better tradition than the chain.

Hope that one stays forever. While a new tradition, it goes above football. Love that one

I don't care about OSU one way or another but that is obviously a big deal, has been a big deal for at least the 50 years I have been watching.

The AXE Minnesota Wisconsin

Oldest FBS rivalry, etc., etc., but I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone that cares outside the upper Midwest. Of course, this can change if Minnesota starts becoming a perennial Top-25 program. Easier said than done, though — only two Top-25 finishes in the last 55+ years.

No. Fool's errand. I'm just here to laugh at it.

Yeah, that's got to be top 5.

Chief Osceola Plants Spear

Notre Dame's Irish Guard is another...

Can someone explain to me how Colorado can set a live buffalo loose on the field but we can’t put Mike in a luxury trailer and take him for a ride? Would it be okay if we set him loose on the field?

Ever make a loud noise around a cat?

And you can drive a car up to a buffalo and they won't GAF.

People always confuse “traditions” with “cool things they do.” Traditions happen organically and naturally. They are not artificially made.

The difference between “Dotting the I” and the Turnover Chain is that the former emerged as a tradition naturally over decades. The latter was probably created with the help of marketers who said “let’s take this thing we never did before and make it our “tradition.”

Same with the NFL. The 12th man flag is not even close to being a “tradition.” My daughter is older than that tradition. It’s just something cool they started doing and got mistakenly labeled as a “tradition.” Same with the Vikings Horn and even players leading The Who Dat Chant.

Some traditions can be new.

I would call Stand Up and Get Crunk a Saints tradition because it was just something they played once before a kickoff and then it exploded. And then they tried to get rid of it because “the song was old” and fans demanded that it come back.

I think the Eye of the Tiger at Midfield has emerged as a tradition. I thought it was a little corny in the 80s but I did miss it when they got rid of it in 90s, and I'm glad it's back for good now.

Lsu most noteworthy feature is the numbers on the 5s not the tens

No one outside lsu notices the tiger eye or the h goalposts
