Shuffle / Shuttle / Shovel pass?

And I've always called it a shovel pass. The motion is similar to using a shovel.

It has always rustled me how these are used interchangeably. Push pass and pop pass have become in vogue recently.

Its shovel pass. if you mean a quarterback tossing the ball forward for a "completion" behind the line its shovel pass.

I have always differentiated them. I felt that a pop pass is a quick, from the chest pass similar to a fundamentally quick basketball pass, while a shovel pass is a low, swooping toss or a quicker, underhanded shuffle.

They are two distinct things, no?

The coach, Cactus Jack Curtice, who designed the play, name it a shovel pass.

Yes. A shovel pass and a pop pass are two very different passes/plays.

Right. Its essentially a jet sweep, where the shovel pass is basically an inside run play.
