Should the Browns take a QB at #1 and #4?

Having a debate with some baws about the pros and cons of this. Selecting two top QBs would certainly reduce the bust risk for the Browns and getting a franchise QB is everything. They could theoretically trade the one they don't feel is the answer for something in return to a team that maybe coveted the player chosen.

The Browns could get away with it because they are the Browns and there's no expectations for them. Ever.

That said, they could also waste two picks in the top 4 if both QBs suck. The GM and coach would obviously be fired. It's also just a waste of a pick when this team desperately needs playmakers.

If I'm the Browns, I'm personally taking Barkley at 1 and Chubb at 4. I'll ride with Tyrod for a year. He's better than any QB they've had recently.

That'd pissed some folks off but it'd be pretty great to see. With the amount of cap space they have and having them both on rookie contracts for at least 4 years, technically they could more than most teams.

I've made the argument that an NFL team should take a QB every first and second round until they find one.

It might not be right though.

And then you're fired.

There's absolutely no way a team with that many holes should be taking a RB at #1. They have kicked the can on QB too many times. I'd take the QB at 1, let him ride the pine for a year, and take Chubb at 4. Garrett, Chubb, and Ogbah would be a nasty arse pass rush.

If they draft two QBs, the better one will just sandbag so he can be cut and move to a better team.

At least that’s what I would do.

???

Johnny Manziel and Brandon Sweden say otherwise. They're just a shite organization that makes shitty decisions at the ownership level.

Exactly. Their mess at QB isn’t for a lack of trying.

How about zero first round QBs? Get Barkley and Chubb, ride with Tyrod Taylor for a couple years then look for his successor?

The browns have like zero draft picks on their teams from the last 10 years (not counting last year) — what’s the harm in drafting 2 qbs is it really wasting other picks, well not for us either way they’ll draft someone who will be gone in 3 years woohoo

Lot of big-time surefire can’t miss players available at that #4 pick like Chubb, Nelson, Fitzpatrick, MAYBE Saquon and your #1 pick QB wouldn’t play that immediately with Tyrod already there, go for the other ancillary pieces within this loaded class, how many times does a team get a two top 5 draft pick scenario? Never wrong to diversify with so much draft talent available across the board.

They were both taken at 22 overall (so was Brady Quinn). They haven't spent any of their numerous top 10 picks on a QB in almost 20 years.

Browns should use their picks to draft a good o-line. This is not a good qb draft

They need to replace Thomas but they already have a fairly strong O-line. Nelson might be the only O lineman to go in the top 15. No tackles close to being worthy of 1 or 4.

The part where he literally said, "If I'm the Browns, I'm personally taking Barkley at 1"

Trade out of the 1 and 4 spot. Draft Lamar Jackson and mason rudholf. Surround the team with 1sr and 2nd round picks the next 2 years.
