I would love to see the reaction if someone knelt for the black national anthem that the NFL is going to play.

Lol, exactly. You can’t do something that very clearly is disrespectful and then dictate how people feel about it just because you didn’t “mean it like that”.

I can’t walk up to somebody and scream “frick you” in their face and then get out of it by telling them they’re taking it the wrong way.

Oh well it was wishful thinking. Glad I found other hobbies to fill the time.

I think people continuing to push back against this is very important rather than just accepting it because of all other bullshite going on.

I'm with Cuban, stop playing the national anthem before all events.
You don't play it in the office before work everyday.

It's San Francisco, what do you expect?

But Panda didn't kneel. He's from Venezuela so he's well aware of what communism is.

Not necessarily. I don’t want any social or political issues intertwined in sports. When I’m watching sports, I don’t want to hear about Trump, Biden, MAGA, BLM, Antifa, white privilege, oppression, COVID, police, etc. I don’t care what Gabe Kapler’s or Aubrey Huff’s feelings about the flag, social issues, etc. When I watch sports, I want to see two teams play and I don’t want to hear/see about the everyday ills of the world. I watch sports to get away from that stuff.

When I want information about health issues, social issues, politics, etc., I’ll watch news, read news sites, go to political forums, etc. And I don’t need athletes in either side telling me how I should feel about a certain societal issue. In most cases, most of these athletes are uneducated parrots just regurgitating whatever crap someone told them in their ear.

Athletes and entertainers are two of the last groups of people I would look to for guidance in life.

What a reach

This is approaching “I’m the smartest guy in the room, so I’m going to throw some hot take at the wall and attempt to make it stick”

Or if you continue to play it, have a moment of silence. During the moment of silence, you can kneel, hold you fist up, pray, or whatever you want. Then play the national anthem. We would see very quickly what their intentions are and what the kneeling is about. Force their hand.

I have no idea why the MLB would allow whoever is controlling the twitter account to send out things like that. You are not going to pick up any fans and you will only push a segment of your fan base away. It makes absolutely no sense.

And then following it up with “Supporting human rights is not political”

This whole thing has just gotten hysterical. It is a race to see who can virtue signal the most. Our country is not perfect. There are black people who experience racism and it’s disgusting and has no place in our society. There have been a few instances of unjustified police shootings and officers need to be held accountable and reforms put in place. But to say the United States has “human rights” issues shows an unbelievable amount of ignorance in regard to the true oppression and human rights violations that people around the globe face on a daily basis.

I have a hard time believing MLB is happy with that person

I think that's just the company line for whoever runs any of their social platforms.

On Instagram the only comments that show up on MLB posts when I scroll is someone saying please keep politics out of baseball and the official MLB account always responds "Supporting human rights is not political" or "It's not politics, it's human rights"

So the company line is basically admitting that you don’t support human rights if you stand during the anthem?

I couldn’t give 2 shits about kneeling or the anthem, tbh. I thought it was silly to get upset over something like that. But this new way of thinking about it has going completely 180 degrees lol

How do you know this? Which sports have been televised for you to be able to tell us their numbers haven't taken a dent?
