Good, overturning the call wouldn't do anything.
except give the guy a perfect game

If im gallaraga i don't need him to reverse the call. I would know i threw a perfect game and so does everyone else. Bud could just make it official but he DID throw a perfect game.

my issue with changing it would be the joy is really in the immediate aftermath of the perfecto.
So since he didn't get to have the joy of celebrating after the perfect game they should just continue to kill his joy by now awarding him the perfect game. Awesome.

agreed. This will go down in baseball history probably more than if Joyce got the call right. People will forget Braden and Halliday over time, this one will stick around forever and it is a perfect game in the minds of everyone involved

i still think since he retired the next batter he faced even after the blown call he should get a no-hitter and an error on the umpire.
we need umpire errors.
we need umpire errors.

yeah, thats how i feel, i think he should have done it.
it wasnt even questionable. he was blatantly out. he needs to be part of history

6 perfect games since 1990 lost in the 9th, either the last out or one lost in extra innings
ESPN said earlier that 10 perfect games have been lost with one out left in the game.

I think they should call it the 20th perfect game and just put an * next to it

roy halladay might considering he just threw the 20th perfect game

Except he didn't throw a perfect game. Has a call ever been overturned in the MLB? I could be wrong, but I don't thing there has been. A perfect game is getting 27 batters out without letting 1 on base. He didn't do that. Currently, human error is part of the game. The call was completely wrong, but it was still made.

I don't know if Gallarraga(sp) had a clause in his contract for throwing a perfect game, but I bet he makes some cash on this 1 hitter outside of baseball. Latenight shows etc.

they gave him a Corvette before the game today.
so yeah
so yeah

yes he did. There is a difference between the batter being out and being called out. He was out. He was called safe.

One of the few things that Selig has done right.
You reverse this call, then you're opening up an insane can of worms...

I think they should change the rules. If an umpire admits to blowing a call on the 27th out of a perfect game, then the call will be overturned and a perfect game awarded.

IMO he can award him a perfect game and leave the box score alone. Why? Cause he's the freaking commissioner.

I don't think anyone would object to a reversal...except maybe the guy who was credited with the hit

counterargued by the guy that followed him with an out which lowered his BA
