Anecdotes:

Duchene will be in tCBJ lineup tonight, ironically @Ottawa.

When Duchene was traded from Colorado to Ottawa in 2017, his first two games were a home and home vs The Avs.

Duchene may not be eligible to play @Columbus vs the Pens on Tuesday due to US work visa issues.

I think the Jackets intend to sign Duchene long term and try to flip Panarin before the deadline.

Thats a hot take. Most people think the Duchene's acquisition takes Breadman off the market.

I think CBJ won't rent Panarin cheap. But they wont hesitate if they get good value.

Panarin and Bob aren't resigning here. Duchene might.

Jensen already locked up for a four year extension. I love GMBM.

Got a ~$1.7M/year raise. Decent trade for Detroit.

Pumped about the Duchene move. Love that Jarmo isn't afraid to take risks like this.

Jackets are pretty deep at young forward depth, so I don't think this hurts their system all that much.

Also don't think Jarmo moves Panarin unless they get a fantastic offer. He definitely moved the market in their favor with this move too.

Lost in all this trade deadline is the winning ways of your future Cup Champs, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

I think they get 130.

And now Wennberg is getting healthy scratched because of the Duchene deal.

VGK about to drop the puck with Winnipeg. Colorado and Chicago tied late and Minnesota is winning...so all 3 could gain ground in the playoff race tonight if VGK lose.

Avs score on a breakaway to grab a 4-3 lead.

Took all of 1:28 for Winnipeg to make it 2-0.

Deadspin comment on the McDavid thing made me laugh

“Is this the first time the NHL has suspended an entire team?”

Many teams are still making a playoff push, and like always, there's a bunch of drama for those final playoff spots. One of my favorite regular seasons was the year the Lightning didn't make it to playoffs. The Lightning where dealing with a bunch of bad mojo (injuries) in 2016 and just got done selling off at the trade deadline(Was crushed when we lost Bishop), but a funny thing happened after all that, the Lightning actually made a decent playoff push afterwards. Sure it wasn't the actual playoffs, but it sure felt like it when every point meant so much. Even though that 2016 Lightning team finished 1 point short of making playoffs, that late push was a pleasure to watch. Hockey sure is awesome!!!!

The Lightning is having a crazy good regular season this year, but the Lightnings main goal is winning "The Cup" without question. All that extra success could be cherry's on top but this team is hungry for a "Cup" after experiencing a few deep runs. Thinking back, that young 2014 Lighting team was way ahead of schedule when they made "The Cup" final verses Chicago, and those players need to use all that gained playoff experience to finish the deal. Winning "The Cup" is so tough but I sure hope this Lightning team can pull it off. We'll see.....

From this point on, every goal matters.

The schedule is really messed up today. There’s a ton of afternoon games. But very few night games.
