That year Kobe's eFG% was 47.9%. Lebron has had 1 year lower than that, his rookie year.

Kobe shot 25% from 3. Lebron has never shot that bad from 3.

Kobe averaged 5.5 rebounds. The only year Lebron averaged 5.5 rebounds was his rookie year.

Kobe averaged 5.5 assists. Lebron has never averaged less than 5.9, which was his rookie year.

Kobe averaged 25.2 point per game. Lebron has only averaged less than that 1 time, his rookie year.

2001 Kobe Bryant was about as good as rookie Lebron James.

Fool, my posts pre-AD trade demand were already demonstrating I was starting to shift away from my hardline LeBron stance when I was talking about killer instinct and what distinguished players and that stuff
So after over 15 seasons, 1,400 games, and 55,000 minutes in the NBA, you went from considering him in the discussion as one best ever to:
quote:

Hell he isn't even what Larry and Isiah were as players and we all know those 2 are 10,000x better at playing the game of basketball than LeBrun ever was or is, they were killers, man, and fighters ask no quarter give none
That makes boom’s posts almost seem logical and substantive by comparison, which is especially striking since you have made it clear that you’re a lawyer.

Yeh so in Lebrons 16th season, he went from 1 or 2 all time to fringe top 10 for PT.

For reference, here are two guys Lebron dropped behind based on his 16th season:

Isiah-13 total seasons

Larry- 13 total seasons

Imagine calling someone else a fool in a thread where you think Lebron went from the GOAT to not being as good as Isiah Thomas in less than a year.

Sometimes when one talks shop about basketball and reminisces about the history of the game and assesses everything in context and changes in the game, they reach realizations that changes their mind about things such as this. I was initially very stubborn in my advocacy for LeBron's place in history bc you know the lawyer mentality but as I started analyzing and reminiscing about great MJ moments, great Bird moments, great Shaq moments, great Magic moments, great Isiah moments, great Kobe moments, etc corresponding to LeBron's I gained a greater and more holistic appreciation for the history of the game and concluded the facts about the LeBron career relative to others, it convinced me differently is what it is.

Knowing and appreciating the history of the game does that to minds and opinions, why are those guys held in such reverence? Bc of their ability to rise to the occasion in the biggest moments with the biggest stakes time and time again to the point it defined their careers and legacies in addition to being great basketball players. LeBron's career in that regard is a mixed bag to the point there's probable cause for doubt, for all his great clutch achievements there were times he glaringly melted down or choked to where it cost his team championships and opportunities.

You're the most interesting personality on the MSB, imo.

You could be 16 years old just as easily as 30 or 50 or 75.

I can't ever tell if you're sober or on pcp.

You're truly an enigma.

Kobe wasn't even the greatest player in his era, Shaq was and then it was Tim Duncan, than it went to LeBron. Here are some facts:

Kobe won 5 total nba championships, 3 with Shaq (shaq was MVP in all 3) and 2 without.

Tim Duncan won 5 nba championships and was finals MVP in 3 of them.

Kobe got bounced out of the 1st round of playoffs twice.

Tim Duncan never lost less than 50 games in any season of his nba career.

Kobe was flashy like Jordan but was never efficient.

Tim Duncan was nicknamed the big fundamental because he did all things right.

people love to skip over Duncan. Put some DAMN respect on that man's name.
