At least two NFL teams have reached out to Urban Meyer to see whether the former Ohio State coach would be interested in interviewing for -- if not accepting -- a head coaching job at the next level, league sources tell ESPN.

Meyer, according to a source connected to one of those teams, did not dismiss the overtures and is considering whether to make the jump to the NFL. He intends to make a decision in the next week, before the NFL regular season is over, and teams are expecting to hear his decision in the coming days.

Not a pro coach. You don’t work to team into a frenzy with a locker room fire brand pep speech before big games. Player talent level has greater parity due the salary cap also.

Not sure his Schemes work either.

One benefit is you don’t need to win every game.

There is more talent parity in the nfl than CFB?

I wouldn't be shocked if one of those teams is Atlanta. That would be a move that Blank would make.

And it would be a colossal mistake. Meyer ain't a pro coach.

I’m guessing Jets and Lions.

Not saying you’re necessarily wrong but people said the exact same thing about Pete Carroll.

If you look at just P5 vs NFL, the top (Bama) has a much larger talent advantage over KU than the Chiefs v Jets.

If you look at a middle of the road team like Maryland or UWV, they’re much further behind Bama or OSU than Cardinals V Saints.

I fully expect the Birds to make that stupid of a decision.

Right up Blank's alley.

He needs to sell the team. He has no idea what he's doing.

Friend,

I suspect Urban Meyer to be very similar to Nick Sabin. Neither coach is very intelligent, nor very good at schemes, nor very good at game day coaching. However, they are both excellent at bending the rules and suspending morality in order to build programs that attract the best talent. Their teams win because they have a superior talent. When the talent levels, Meyer will find, like Saban did, that he is a below average coaching coach.

Yours,

I don’t think this is the kind of coach Meyer is.

I dunno. I could see it working. Meyer was never a big discipline/control freak coach, which seems to be a problem for good CFB coaches that go to the pros.

Not happening, though I’m of the mindset that he needs to get out of all football-related decisions and leave it to the front office and coaching staff.

You also don’t have to recruit.

Can he just make a fricking decision. Coach or don’t coach. Don’t keep coming back with this health bullshite when the reason your health symptoms get bad is because you are stressed out from coaching.
