AU is pretty wild.

Nothing compares to the '05 Rose bowl atmosphere wise either.

not for a game where we play usc. Autzen;s never gotten up to 129 decibles and although it's loud, it doesnt have the same intimidation factor of death valley.

yes, the golf clapping from the usc and texas fans created a loud, electric atmosphere,... the game was awesome though and it couldnt have been on a bigger stage, I'll give you that.

USC 27, LSU 13.

It'd be a good one, that's for sure.

I think the stage trumps the atmosphere in this rare case because of what was actually on the line, even tho the north vs the south is on the line in an SC/LSU game

SC wins by 10 with a late score.

there's no shame in saying that LSU would lose to SC right now...they're a better team at the moment, and it's hard to see where LSU stands especially after playing 2 cupcakes.

Autzen is not as loud as TS. I covered this in a previous post.

quote:

As Ergophobic Tiger correctly noted, SPL (sound power level), i.e. dB, operates on a logarithmic scale. Consequently, when two identical sound sources are combined, the resulting SPL is not the algebraic sum of the two individual SPL’s. Instead, the SPL increase when two identical sources of sound pressure are combined is only 3 dB over that of one of the sound sources.

Therefore, if Tiger Stadium during last year’s UF game with 92k fans reached a SPL of approximately 130 dB, this implies that 46k Tiger fans would have achieved a SPL of 130 dB-3 dB=127 dB, the same as Autzen at its peak with 59K fans. (There are of course some simplifying assumptions in this analysis, such as assuming that each stadium’s respective fans are more or less in the same location when sound is measured, which is a reasonable assumption for the comparison).

So what does all this mean?

It means that 46k Tiger fans make as much noise as 59k Oregon fans, that’s what it means! The significance of this result is even further enhanced when one considers the reportedly superior acoustical qualities of Autzen, which gives their fans some advantage.

Bottom line: We have scientifically proven that LSU fans>>>>Oregon fans (or any PAC-1 fans for that matter).

Have a great day!

From having been at 'big' games in both stadiums in the recent past, I can unequivocally tell you that Autzen is not >>> TS.
